But I am being selfish here.....if you have ever smoked a real Cuban Punch Double Corona Cigar.......they are fantastic.

We will lose Florida in the effort. Those who came in 1980 were killing people on the streets for a bracelet. The Miami homicide detectives said that overnight literally the level of voilence and the form of crime changed drastically. Throats were slit to get necklaces, not just ripped from ones neck as had been the ususal attack. No we will not just fly down and put in democracy. It will be very nasty and very close to our shores, and will be on our shores as a multitude of problems. I often wonder what the US plan is to handle this inevitable nightmare. I know it is hard for those who do not live near here to get this. CTW

I am from Florida too, and I remember the Muriel Boat lift very well.

We have always been hunters and had long guns in the house, but after the boat lift is when my Dad went out and purchased the first handgun we had in the house. He made sure my sister and I knew how to use it.

All Castro did was empty his prisons and send Cuban society's criminals and degenerates.

I remember the violence that followed, and I hope and pray that our Goverment has a plan to deal with whatever Castro's death brings.

.......those Punch Double Coronas are still mighty tasty. Wink

When Fidel croaks off, I don't see tens of thousands of people making the 90 mile trip across the water to Florida the following day. I think that what will happen is 20 years of minor warlords all wanting to take Castro's place. These guys will have a new dictator on even months and a new coup on odd months. Cuba will become another hotspot of turmoil and guerilla fighting by different factions all wanting to promote their own agendas. You will see a slightly increased and continuous stream of refugees getting out to get away from the daily killing, looting, rape and devastation.
I don't think even Kerry will want to get into the quagmire that Cuba will become.
