Hell! If they can declare a War on Drugs and a War on Poverty, both of which Congress has done...Why can't they declare a war on Islamofascists that are trying to kill us and destroy our society? There have been declared wars in American history that weren't entirely against sovereign nations.. Have they ever heard this..."to the shores of Tripoli!"? _________________ On Sale! In this new worldwide threat. It would be great if you could get all the countries who are with us to do the same in their countries, (Lots of luck) given their citizens.
I don't think Bushs words, "war on terror" has as much teeth with the rogue nations. But, to have everyone on board, WE'RE GOING IN, should be the next word from the coalition to every nation still engaging in terrorism.. The last declared war was WWII. They all split hairs on these forums. I mentioned the same sort of unhappiness thats in Iraq regarding the occupation happened in Germany after the war. One guy says that never happened. Does anyone have anything I can use to point him in the right direction.
Why is this AGAIN, a US thing. Isn't anybody else in the world just as much at war? That burns me up! We are supposed bring peace to the Palestinians and the Israelis. Now we're trying in Iraq. But we are always the fall guys, if things don't go right it our fault? Not the homicide bombers. Not rogue nations.
It'll always be up to us... we are the willing. God Bless America... _________________ "From time to time, the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." -- Thomas Jefferson

"A Familiar Place
It got ugly in postwar Germany, too.
With all the nay saying about our presence in Iraq, it's worth noting that none of these difficulties are particularly new. No postwar occupation has been without serious challenges, including the occupation of Germany after World War II. The New York Times ran a series of news stories in late 1945 reporting, in part, the following:
"Germans Reveal Hate of Americans," October 31, 1945 "

Apologies for this quote, but for those who have never visited that sewer, I just had to post a sample quote from these "defenders of free speech" on the left (edited for language):
Quote: | &%# animals. Oh the horror of a beheaded military contractor.
But who gives a **** about the tens of thousands that we have done far worst to? We are nazi Germany. |
Damn, I can feel the love for country in these folks. Kerry should be proud to have such passionate supporters.
(kewl.. I almost forgot to edit out a naughty word and the board did it for me |

Scott,
My heart feels for you. I think I would have to move (LOL). I live in a very democratic area also, so I am a voice of a few. It is sad but I still give my opinion and let the chips fall where they fall. I had a "little discussion" with a spouse of a vet who is German....as she critisized President Reagan. I told her that I respected and admired Ronald Reagan and also informed her as I walked out that George Bush was getting my vote and would 87 billions times over. I may be a small minority living in Illinois but it will never stop me from wearing my republican button nor giving my opinion when it is called for. I am never rude. I am just not going to stand by and let someone be misinformed about what is really going on and what they only hear from the liberal media. I am all for boycotting the liberal media, as I do not watch the "main" networks and have not in quite some time. I also hit the web and I even listen to some, not a lot, of the liberal view because then I just wonder where these people get their source. My role is to keep my friends and family informed of all the facts...and I am sure there are times they wonder if I am ever going to shut up. For some reason getting George Bush elected is important for me. Maybe because I do see the bigger picture and just really wonder why the other half of this country does not. It bothers me as our men and women are fighting this war on terror that the majority of this country just goes on as if nothing is going on. If it does not directly coincide with their every day lives, they are not worried about it. It also concerns me that most people can not see that the liberal media for who and what they are.
The only true statement I know is that John Kerry is not what we need for our next president. It is important for us to keep getting that word out. |

Of all the Military analysts -- I like Col. Hunt best. Ollie would be my second favorite.
Scott -- MA must be a beautiful place; as Frank; Kennedy; Kerry; and the folks that allow Gay Marriages and other Liberal planks; would have driven away a long time ago.
I love Texas, and we've had some idiots like Ann Richards and Queen Sheila -- but even Texas' most liberal Dems are still to the right of the Northeast's most conservative Republican politicians. Keep up the good fight up there. _________________ Top 10 Weasels.com is where Kerry is Weasel #1 |
