I just read this on Drudge and was shocked. Came here to post it and see you are all discussing it. Thanks for the email addresses. I just sent these 3 letters to Brooker, his editor, and the Guardian Editor:

************

Mr. Brooker:

1) I assume you are not a citizen of The United States. Therefore, the election of the President of the United States is absolutely none of your business.

2) Since you have made it your business and have published a despicable article advocating the assassination of the President of the United States, I must inform you that this is grounds for your arrest and prosecution here in the United States and I have duly reported you to the United States Department of Justice and forwarded a complaint to your own Government.

**********

I have just written to Mr. Brooker and informed him that his publishing a piece advocating the assassination of the President of the United States is grounds for arrest and prosecution here in the United States. I have reported him to the U. S. Dept of Justice and I am forwarding my complaint, along with a copy of Mr. Brooker's article in The Guardian, to your own Government.

This is a very serious breach for which not only Mr. Brooker but yourself are responsible.

**************

Mr. Ian Mayes:

Charlie Brooker's article advocating the assassination of the President of the United States is a very serious breech for which not only Mr. Brooker but The Guardian are responsible. Advocating the assassination of the President of the United States is a crime for which Mr. Brooker is subject to arrest and prosecution here in the United States. Accordingly, I have forwarded his article to the U. S. Dept of Justice with a copy to your own Government.

I'm telling you guys. I think the leftists are just crazy enough that when Bush wins they will try to take a poke at him.

I know the Secret Service is well aware of the threat and will have extra precautions in place.....but DAY-UMM....this is serious.

When a country that is a supposed ally prints this kind of stuff....you know things are bad.

Your stupid idea to write letters to undecided voters in Ohio didn't work so I guess now you have to stoop to calling for an assassination. I just don't know who you think you are. But, I'll tell you what I think you are: stupid, dishonest, liar, ignorant, reckless, dangerous, backward, drooling, twitching, blinking, mouse-faced cheating *******, bastard and mother *****.
And, I'll tell you another thing. The reason President Bush was blinking was he could not believe the lies coming out of the Mr.Kerry's mouth. Mr. Kerry does not deserve to be on the same stage as President Bush, much less debating him. If I had been President Bush, I would have had the same reaction, as many other Americans. And, no, the news media here did not make such a big deal of it because, even though the left wing media hacks support Kerry, they do know he lies like no one they have ever quite known, other than Bill Clinton.
Who we elect in the USA is not your business. Guess what? You don't have a vote here. Did that ever occur to your little shriveled pea brain. I support President Bush and I am proud of it.
So take that and shove it up your low class butt.

This is the letter I sent to Brooker. I got a little heated over this jerk.

The Secret Service is well known for having no sense of humor for idiots or tolerance of said same. I am quite sure MI6 (or is it MI5?) share the same thoughts and this kool-aid drinker can expect a "courtesty call" from MI6/5 or possibly survelliance. Complaints about Guardian content may be sent to the Readers' Editor, Ian Mayes - reader@guardian.co.uk.

Thanks, Fort Campbell or whoever originated this email. I couldn't find it on their website. Here's my email:

How dare you ask for the assassination our Commander In Chief? You’re not even a citizen of the U.S.

You think you’re funny, and you’re actually just offensive.

I would react the same way Bush did if I were in a debate with a liar like Kerry, shocking, shocking me with his “in your face” style lying and cow-towing to people with “itching ears” like you.

You really don’t even deserve my attention enough for this email, but you must know there are many, many Americans over here (thank God we’re far away from you), that think deeper than shallow style and really care about a person’s character and integrity, or are those words no longer in your English dictionary?

I highly doubt it.

I hope the Secret Service knows exactly where you are, 24-7.

It is big time against the law to suggest or promote the idea of violence against the President of the United States. I promise you he will receive a visit courtesy of the MI-5 and the Secret Service. In fact, I am confident he was already on a watch list.

Unfortunately, these little weasels thrive on the attention and noteriety; it makes them celebrities in their small and pathetic circle.

I suggest sending emails that are cooly condescending in tone and poke fun at his impotence as a journalist. Do not let him think he has gotten under your skin, it just gets these types off.

Along the lines of: Ah yes, assination: the final refuge of the impotent. I heard John Wilkes Booth was unable to perform, both on stage and off, and it is that which drove him to kill the great humanitarian, liberator of the oppressed, and Republican president, Abraham Lincoln.

Now you have called for the assisination of another great humanitarian, liberator of the oppressed, and Republican president, George W. Bush. I will leave that outrage to the capable hands of our Secret Service. In the meantime: If you have superior ideas for how to acheive peace and oust brutal regimes, put them forth or be still, little man. We in America are in the midst of a great political contest and do not need smarmy socialist know-nothings intruding upon it from outside our borders; we have quite enough smarmy socilaist know-nothings within our borders to suffice, thank you.

Something like that. It is all psychological gamesmanship: you want to take the upper hand and keep it throughout. Drives 'em bonkers.

The European far left are actually worse than Saddam. When Saddam did atrocities he knew that was bad, but he did it for fun and pleasure. The far left in Europe and in the US claim moral superiority while at the same time supporting mass murderer like Saddam.

Fox News talked about this topic briefly this morning on Fox & Friends. Just saw it. Mike Gallagher brought it up. Said he hoped heads would roll over this.

Why do you say it reflects the Brits wit? It reflects their utter leftist political position that has been clearly visible on the Internet for a long long time. The Guardian is widely quoted by Interent types who sit all day and argue on newsgroups and in left leaning blogs. These types use the Guardian as "proof" of the rightness of their political position. This is the kind of voter Kerry is attracting. There is a type of political activist in the US who will agree and possibly take it as marching orders.
I find this article very troubling. While it reflects the cynical wit of a left-wing brit, his call for the services of a Lee Harvey Oswald or John Wilkes Booth is beyond the pale. I hope that someone will call his hand on this.

John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley Jr - where are you now that we need you?

Charlie Brooker of The Guardian needs to be taken into custody for questioning.

Here is the president's email address. This should get the DHS moving.

Thanks, oasis. I'll send the White House an E-mail too. This man should be taken into custody. And I also agree with another poster who said that far more people in Great Britain and Europe really agree with this maniac than disagree with him. Europe is overrun with Muslim cells and many of their citizens are becoming sympathetic to their propaganda. Educate yourself on this issue because our next extremist attack may very well come from a European Cell.

Great article describing the deranged mentality of the liberal Europeans. Check this out.

Quote:
Why they'd like to see him assassinated

Charles Moore in the Daily Telegraph describes the theory by which British leftists rationalize their hatred of President Bush, a hatred that leads one major newspaper, the Guardian, to wish for his assassination. It goes like this:

A moral equivalence is set up, in which Osama bin Laden and Bush are presented as two sides of a fundamentalist coin. On Wednesday, a television programme tried to equate the Muslim Brotherhood, which advocates the violent destruction of all societies that do not conform to sharia law, with the American neo-conservative intellectuals who taught that people should revive their interest in Plato and the civilisation of the ancient Greeks.

This analysis, as I said, is a rationalization for Bush hatred, not the basis for it. As Moore notes:

It is the critics themselves who are suffering from pseudo-religious certainty and superstition. Isn't there something self-righteous, slightly crazed, about directing such overwhelming anger at the man whose job it is to pick up the pieces of September 11 on behalf of the free world? George W Bush as we see him today is a response to disorder, not its cause.

Yet, the rationalization reveals the true source of Bush-loathing -- hatred of the religious and core philosophical underpinnings of western civilization (represented in the leftist parable by the ancient Greeks). But if you hate these things, what remains worth defending about the west? The only thing I can think of is its hedonism. That's how the Islamofascists see it too. And they have figured out that, if that's all the west is fighting for, the west will lose.
