The wife and I went to vote Saturday morning. Straight ticket for Bush for both of us! Long line in Grand Prairie, we waited 20 min to get checked in and vote. We both felt great to do our part for the country! _________________ "The price of freedom is eternal vigilence" - Thomas Jefferson

You guys can't pressure me into voting early. (You Bush thugs.) I am voting on November 2nd according to the ancient rituals and rites of the tribe of Kimmymac.
I had to vote absentee a lot of years, and since I am stateside and finally permanent residented I enjoy the pageantry and drama of November 2nd. My family makes a big deal out of it, seriously. We all walk to the polling place, en masse. Bunch of nerds, but we are harmless. Then we watch election returns. My husband locks himself away in his la-bor-a-tory because he can't stand to listen to us, but we will watch until the end. We each take a different TV and different station and keep giving each other updates. Our manned listening posts:
"FOX HAS BUSH UP BY 2!"
"CNN HAS CLAIMED GORE WON FLORIDA, THOSE LYING DOGS!"
"DON'T INSULT DOGS! CBS IS SAYING BUSH WON FLORIDA!"
All night long. Plus the phone rings constantly with updates, outrages, gloats, etc. This year my husband has said he is thinking about going on a spiritual retreat on November 2nd.
If Kerry wins (God forbid) he better make it 4 years long. _________________ The last refuge of scoundrels is not patriotism; it is finicky liberal humanitarianism.--Martin Paretz |

OH MY GOODNESS...... If this can be an indication of what some of the people are thinking out there, this could be great for us. My mother-in-law and step-father-in-law have never ever ever voted Republican in their life. Now this isn't a swing state now, but they live in Missouri and today they are probably going to throw their vote to Bush. I don't discuss politics with them because I don't want to stir up problems, but they brought up the topic with us and we told them why we were voting the way we are and it sounds like they are two. So that is two votes influenced or 4 because it adds two to Bush and takes two away from Kerry. I have another Democrat friend here in Dallas, and again Texas will not matter in the electorial college, but she is tossing her vote to Bush this time too. I hope many others are doing the same. |
