If they had a real hot story, we would have all the details by now. There are too many of us out there, in the newsroom, pre-press, pressroom etc. I worked at a print newspaper for 12 years and I know that it's nearly impossible to keep the lid on a big story.
Anyway, nobody else will pick it up unless it's covered by the NYT or WAPO. _________________ ETN2 PTF2 (Littlecreek Underwater Demolition Unit 2 1963)

Well, Redstate is going to have the Author blogging for them. The article will appear on the top half of the front page:
Investigative Report
I'm looking forward to it.

Breaking: Kerry Story on Page One of WashTimes
More on that breaking story about John Kerry; according to Mike Krempasky of Redstate, the story is written by Joel Mowbray and will run on page one of tomorrow’s Washington Post (not the Times)—and the word is that Drudge is going to break it tonight.
Joel Mowbray will be on Fox and Friends tomorrow and will also be blogging at Redstate.
UPDATE at 10/24/04 6:11:15 pm:
Although Mike Krempasky’s email said Joel Mowbray’s piece would appear in the Washington Post, that was a mistake—according to the listing at Redstate, the article will appear in the Washington Times after all: More on the John Kerry Story. _________________ "An activist is the person who cleans up the water, not the one claiming its dirty."

Good. I was worried that someone was going to break my stories before I finished them off.
Anyway, I finally found the coverletter that should have been posted with Kerry's Service Record check on 1/25/85 by a JAG Officer, LCDR Meyers in NMPC-06. This just get more and more interesting.

Sorry, I didn't explain that too well.
This is a transmittal letter that goes with the Service Record check on Kerry's website. This should have been included with Kerry's posted record -- but of course, it would tell you why Kerry's record was being looked at. No wonder Kerry didn't post it -- could be or may not be anything but it's very curious that the same office was using the same forms Kerry posted -- NMPC-06 was the Privacy Act folks. Now who could have been asking for Kerry's records back then and why?
Check out the rest of Hubbard's stuff. Apparently he was investigated for being bad while in the Navy. Remind you of someone?

I'm not sure how hot this story is compared to the NYT piece about missing explosives - but apparently the story is that Kerry did not meet with the security council regarding Iraq as he had previously claimed.
I don't really think this will enflame the passions of the masses, so hopefully this is not THE October Surprise.
I understand NavyChief has something up his sleeve. Okay - Chief, it's up to you... _________________ ANNOUNCING: DOUBLE W. Which means, KERRY LOST! Now don't that feel GOOD????

OK Chief, my eyeballs are hangin' out again. There's not enough time left before the election to read all that stuff. Do you, Drudge, WaTi or anyone else have the same stuff for Humpty Dumpty? If so, can it be pared down and summarized for mass consumption? Hopefully, the Navy carried out some kind of action against him for being bad. Otherwise, it might be lost in the election wilderness. _________________ '58 Airedale HMR(L)-261 VMO-2 |

Argh -- my fingers and brain are working too fast for this one.
What I linked was Ron L Hubbard's transmittal letter to NMPC-06. This is the same office that did a Kerry request, 5 days after he became a Senator. It was the only transmittal letter I could find that should be what Kerry posted on his website -- he didn't post HIS transmittal letter. If he did, we would know who and why someone was asking for a Naval Background Investigation into Kerry's files. It's speculation that Hubbard's troubles would be similiar to Kerry's but it gives us a visual of more paperwork that Kerry is hiding in his record.
