Funny thing happened in FL. A woman emailed Fox and Friends this morning and said that the NYT was delivered to their whole block with their morning papers. Even stranger nobody on the street subscribes to it. Even stranger, the whole front page was "Bush bashing", oh wait, come to think of it that isn't so strange. Confused

The missing cache of weapons and the Clinton come back is all over TV news and not a word about Kerry's UN lie. Everyone knows that Kerry is a lier but many just don't care.

Unless there's an October surprise like Kerry and Chirac found naked at a French resort, there's probably not enough time for any surprise to have a material impact.

If Kerry wins, you get Hillary as chief justice of the Supreme Court. God help us.Twisted Evil

I sure hope that NavyChief has a whopper coming soon.

I heard Kerry on the radio this morning pounding this. So this is their October surprise. The MSM is acting like this is new news. Time to unleash some letters.

Damn, CNN won't shut up about this, now they are accusing the administration of knowing about it and keeping it a secret, blah, blah, blah, not a good story for the white house, does not come at a good time, will this affect the Bush campaign.....

NOT one word about Kerry's lies.

At least Fox was talking about the other story this morning.

I use to change to cnn on occassion just to see what was going on, but I can't anymore.

I just heard that the pentagon says that hundreds of thousands of tons of explosives have been destroyed. The missing amount is 380 tons. A small percentage of the total.

RE: THOSE MISSING EXPLOSIVES - CHECK THE IAEA REPORT [10/25 12:56 PM]

Kerry Spot reader R.L. points to the January 27, 2003 report by the International Atomic Energy Agency to the U.N. Security Council.

Way down at point 53 and 54, we read:

53. The relocation and consumption of HMX (a high explosive of potential use in nuclear weapons), as described in Iraq's backlog of semi-annual declarations, has been investigated by the IAEA. In those declarations, Iraq stated that, between 1998 and 2002, it had transferred 32 of the 228 tonnes of HMX which had been under IAEA seal as of December 1998 to other locations. In addition, Iraq stated that a very small quantity (46 kg) of HMX had been used at munitions factories for research and development. At the request of the IAEA, Iraq has provided further clarification on the movement and use of the HMX. In that clarification, Iraq indicated that the 32 tonnes of HMX had been blended with sulphur to produce industrial explosives and provided mainly to cement plants for quarrying, and that the research and development using the small quantity of HMX had been in the areas of personnel mines, explosives in civilian use, missile warhead filling and research on tanks.

54. IAEA inspectors have been able to verify and re-seal the remaining balance of approximately 196 tonnes of HMX, most of which has remained at the original storage location. The movement of the blended HMX and the other small quantity of HMX has also been documented by Iraq. However, it has not been possible to verify the use of those materials, as all of it is said to have been consumed through explosions and there are no immediately available technical means for verifying such uses. The IAEA will continue to investigate means of verifying the Iraqi statements about the use of the HMX and blended HMX.

So the IAEA, who in the Times story comes across as the noble international bureaucracy warning those cowboy Americans, couldn't really verify that Iraq was using the HMX the way they said they were. And they counted 228 tons, not the 380 tons that the Times article references. Where did that additional 150 tons go? Or come from?

Say, this article with the Times wouldn't be an effort by the IAEA to cover its flank by putting the blame on American troops instead of their own inspectors, now would it?

What most people who have been discussing this "big new" NYT story seem to have forgotten is that it was the subject of a thread on 11 Oct. The words don't read exactly the same, but today's story really is just another spin on the same story. The Reuters version of the old story is still available at:

Note that down in the lower left hand corner is a link to today's story.

Kerry seems to be getting a pass not just in the media, but also with his past. Bush disclosed all his records, but Kerry will get away with NOT disclosing his? This is so pathetic. Twisted Evil

It looks like the NYT is going to run with the non-Iraqi prisoners did not fall under the Geneva Convention according to some in the Bush Admin. This sounds like another old story that is being rerun. Like I said, All the news that's fit to line the litter box. Let them keep running this stuff, they are looking more desperate all the time. Any bets on the spin.

Will anyone have any concern for those prisoners in light of the beheadings

Kerry has been at least reporting syptoms of PTSD since 1983, that was kind of when it was "cool" to be Nam vet (the popular tide of opinion had changed after the shameful way the country had treated returning vets, and Kerry was just riding it)...
