Folks,

Here's a bit of an update for you.

On Friday (22Oct04), we posted the mp3s of the
O'Neill / O'Donnell "exchange" on Scarborough.
Since then, the link (now in R&R) has had over 12K
hits though this site. Looking at server internal data,
I know for a fact we've been linked into several very popular
conservative sites, but what is more, some Pro-Kerry sites
have linked to the mp3s as well. I'm sure these guys are
listening in gleefully into the lunacy that is O'Donnell, but
far more important is the juxtapose of our guy --cool, calm
and rational ---amidst the heat of a horrendous verbal assault.

In any case, they all said we were a 'flash in the pan' and
would be forgotten...HAH!

Wink

Scarborough Country (on MSNBC now) to revisit the O'Donnell "heated discussion" later in the show. Pat Buchanan hosting again.

How can Pat Buchanan get over that one? It was the ugliest thing I have ever seen on television outside of the afew of the worst Jerry Springer shows. I think Lawrence O'Donnell is a psychopath.

I haven't been monitoring the OIM...boycott... so has there been any comments about him? Was he fired? (Well, I can be optimistic) I still can't believe how rabid he was. Surely he was imparied by something. He has been getting increasingly obnoxious about God, faith, President Bush and Vice-President Cheney in general, etc. But he finally got crazed. He had lost all self-control.

Anybody put together the clips of all these melt downs? Hope someone got the one of Carvile with John Oneill as Carvile threw himself on the table and flailed about in his chair while screaming at Jon.

I feel so sad that John has had to endure all this rage and rude behavior. He is such a gentleman and maintains such decorum. I would be just as crazed and screaming back!
I was glad he spoke more firmly and with passion on the Cspan debate(?) with the Texan for Truth guy. He didn't let the accusations stand from the bar patrons. All the best to John and his family. CTW

Pat B. just mentioned that Joe S. now has his own blog on the MSNBC site ( http://joe.msnbc.com ). I checked out his first post, about the NY Times endorsing Kerry (Joe's shocked Wink ).

Joe wrote an amusing P.S. :

Quote:
I'm back on the show tonight so hopefully we will not see a replay of Friday night's spitting match when one of our guests bit the leg of another while urinating on the leg of Pat Buchanan. Fortunately, Pat was in spandex.

How about Looney Larry, he's not man
enough to apologize in person?

Just caught the end of the show....
Pat B. made a statement about how O'Donnell had crossed the line and an apology was needed. And that it wouldn't happen again on this show....

You are right. Why didn't they push him out there to apologize like a man?
Oh, yeah, he's not. Not sorry and not a real man. CTW

Pat apologized for Larry, said it was "over the line" and wouldn't happen again. Added that Larry was very disrespectful of John O'Niell.

We had an effect on MSNBC about the attack on SwiftVets but I guess it wasn't enough....that was really sad to listen too. Nothing but we are sorry about O'Donnell and how he behaved....Oh please give me a break Rolling Eyes

O'Neill and the SwiftVets should be given air time, that totals the time John was screamed at and not allowed to speak... Wink

Pat Buchanan:
Quote:
"...as you know, we often have heated discussions on Scarborough Country, and we welcome a vigorous but respectful exchange of ideas and debate. Lawrence O'Donnell is and has been a valued contributor, however, the manner in which he expressed his disagreement, crossed the line. MSNBC believes he was disrespectful to you the viewer, and that his insults did nothing to forward the debate, or the understanding of a very critical issue. We've spoken to Lawrence O'Donnell and he agrees. We can assure you that this will not happen again on this program."

He only apologized to the viewers.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Quote:
Dear Mr. Buchanan:

That apology does not get it. You only apologized to the viewers. You did not apologize to Mr. O'Neill or to the thousands of vietnam veterans for whom he speaks.

I demand that you extend your apology to these parties. Further, I demand that you FIRE Lawrence O'Donnell at once and make that announcement on television tomorrow night. I am in the process or organizing a nation wide boycott of the entire MSNBC network that I intend to post through all of the blog sites on the internet if these terms are not met completely.
