Please lock out CBS from your television and send this email to everyone in you address book.

Please put CBS on notice by sending emails to the following addresses

evening@cbsnews.com
earlyshow@cbs.com
48hours@cbsnews.com
audsvcs@cbs.com

I am advocating that we gang up on one specific network and their sponsors in an effort to apply punishment that will be felt. Perhaps competing networks will selfishly cover the boycott story in an effort to capture a point or two from CBS for themselves. However, to avoid looking like hypocrites they will need to at least make a token effort to report some of the untold or under told stories.

The fact that CBS devoted an entire 60 minute program to promote Clintons book while our young men and women are in harms way is enough reason for me to put them on notice as the one that the veteran - military community is putting on notice.

As of today I have locked all CBS stations from all the televisions in my home. And will not purchase any products that sponsor CBS.

Perhaps we will lift the boycott when they begin covering the whole story.

Quotes taken from
David Horowitz
FrontPageMagazine.com | June 18, 2004

“A three week military campaign with minimal casualties”,
“25 million people liberated from one of the most sadistic tyrants of modern times”
“Establishment of a military and intelligence base in the heart of the terrorist world”
“The filling of mass graves with 300,000 corpses were stopped”
“Prisons for four to twelve year olds were closed”
“A democratic constitution has been drafted”
“Two-thirds of al-Qaeda’s leadership is gone”
“There hasn’t been a terrorist attack in America in more than two and a half years”

CBS has spent more time on the prison abuse story then all these stories combined

You're about 20-40 years late on a strategy like this. In '84 Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Falwell tried to buy enough shares in CBS to engage in a hostile takeover and failed miserably, and in the late 60s there was a widespread CBS boycott. But good luck.

FYI- I'm one of those dying breed moderate Republicans and although I have been offended by CBS' selective coverage in the past, I think that there are ample alternatives for conservatives. If you don't like CBS stop watching, get cable, watch FOXNEWS and listen to AM radio.

CBS News has been losing viewers for years, so there is a way to reach them. You might be able to say an effort such as this if CBS News were gaining viewers or their viewer loss had bottomed out, but it's not.

We might not be able to shut it down, but the more of a dent we put in their viewership the less resources they have to pay Rather, et al. The less movies we go to see, the less money for Hollywood hacks to run down our country with their mindless dreck.

I think you would agree though that it's not so much an organized boycott that has led to the recent demise of CBS/CNN et al, it's just people getting sick and tired of watching these news outlets. That's where they're really losing the viewers. I was a faithful listener of NPR and reader of the Washington Post - no longer. Life is better without them, let me tell you. No more rage in the morning.

nodonkey-
The Washington Post, until very recently, was edited by one of the conservative movement's greatest allies in print media. Meg Greenfield hired George Will, Robert Novak, and at one point Charles Krauthammer as columnists, and regularly solicited contributions from Henry Kissinger. The New York Times is a different story, but I always felt like the WP was balanced...

And I think that declining CBS ratings is a panopoly of things. I mean, who the hell watches the alphabet media broadcasts for news these days? With the internet, cable, and talk radio there's no need for them, so they'll eventually fade out on their own. I guess I don't mind if there are different news sources for different-minded people, but wow...what about in twenty years? If you only get news from the source that confirms your beliefs, what's the point? I try to read everything from everyone. From townhall.com to amleft.blogspot.com to WSJ.com to NYT.com.... If you really want to be informed you have to read a lot of different ideological biases and find the middle ground on your own.

SillyRabbit a moderate Republican?? First a moderate is only a misnomer eluding to a fencesitter afraid to take a position one way or the other. Second, a Republican?? My big old butt.

But I can read Will, Krauthammer, etc. on TownHall.com and I don't have to put up with Dana Milbank, Charles Raspberry, Michael Kinsley, Marc Fisher, Richard Cohen, Tim Toles, Doonesbury, Boondocks and the rest of the dreck. Even the Style section is appalling these days, might as well read "Maxim" or some other soft porn rag.

I will only miss the Post this fall for football coverage. the traffic column and the coupons. The Times coverage is just as good, but I can never read enough about football.

I used to want to read the other side until the other side went off of the ideaological deep end. The left in this country is morally and intellectually bankrupt and they're not worth listening to any more, especially since I already know what they're going to say before they say it.

I consider myself a moderate republican...and I do take sides of every issue. They are just not mainstream republican...as I am pro-choice, I am OK for gay civil unions...not OK for gay marraiges...still my conservative upbringing coming in. I am for stem cell research...I am for George W. Bush. I am just not a one issue voter and I am looking at the bigger picture and who I think can handle and do the job better in the White House. I am very opinionated (imagine that...LOL).

So I do consider myself a moderate republican because I do not always agree with the conservative view of everything. I changed my party affiliation years ago from independent to republican so I can have a say as to who I want to run the elections. I do not always agree with the candidate on every issue and realize I have to pick and choose what is the most important issue in each election (of course the only person who will you will find who will agree with you on every issue is John Kerry as he changes his views per who is talking in front of).

I like George W. Bush. I respect and admire a man who says what he means and will not waiver. I may not agree with him on every issue but I know who and where he is coming from. John Kerry one can not be sure of as he takes the position on just about both sides of every issue at one point or another.

Mike
I voted for Reagan in 84, Bush in 88, Bush in 92, Clinton in 96, and Bush Jr. in 2000. I tend to vote Democrat in Senate elections because I like my Senator. Sure. Right now I'm leaning to Kerry, but that's because I believe that the present Administration is incompetent (not liars).

Maybe you see me as a 'fence sitter' but I see myself as smart and individualistic. I don't toe party lines or let people write my opinions for me so they can get my vote. I like to actually step outside mindless ideology and make rational decisions, sorry. I'll admit, on social issues I've almost never agreed with conservatism, but I almost NEVER agree with Democrats on foreign policy.

John McCain is my ideal president.

Theresa,

I'm sorry, I should have qualified that a bit better. Substitute conservative for republican. My bad.

Sillyrabbit

Question for you? Are you then just voting aginst George Bush and thus allowing John Kerry to become the next president? Have you really looked at John Kerry's record? I am not always in agreement with George Bush. I have some major differences with his views...but when it all comes down to George Bush or John Kerry...I just can not in no way vote for John Kerry. I understand the anger the Vietnam vets feel...I may not have served during that time...but I do understand...and I may not be able to fully comprehend the down right anger they feel...or I think more betrayal, I do understand why they do not like John Kerry.

I guess what I am saying just do not vote for John Kerry just because you dislike George Bush. Somestimes we must pick the better candidate, not always one who we are 100% with.

Although I do like and respect Geroge Bush. I do see where he stands and where we differ. John Kerry the picutre is not clear at all. I learned over the years because I was upset with President Bush 44 and I hate to admit this, but I voted for Ross Perot...and looked what that did. Got Clinton elected. So I will now always vote for the candidate who I feel will do the best job for this country regardless of how much I differ from them. I do not see where President George Bush lied to us. I do see where John Kerry has over and over again. I see where President Bush will lead us...John Kerry keeps saying over and over to get the UN involved..the only way the UN wanted to get involved and that was to support Saddam because they were making billions off from the Oil for Food Program. The UN is a waste and the US should not be giving the UN any more support or money to this organization because it is very corrupt.

So I ask again...why would you vote for John Kerry? Or are you voting just because you hate President Bush. When it all comes down to it..the whole world thought Iraq had WMD's...even John Kerry.

We can either defeat terrorism in the middle east...or we can wait and fight it here. Because if we do stand up and defeat this now...it will come here. That much I do believe.

Oh yes, the offseason resurrection of the Skins and the seasonal implosion of the team is a source of continual amusement for this transplant. They're going to have to work harder at screwing up the season this year with Gibbs at the helm, but I have faith in them. Tough division they're in as well.

I don't really dislike the Skins, it's just more fun to hear the cursing when they lose.

If you aren't listening to Tony on 980AM at 5:30 p.m., tune in. He calls into the Sportsreporters.
