Active duty members: I might leave this one to the civilians, retired and veterans.
I think the rules (Hatch Act) would allow participation, but I urge you to be very careful if you choose to participate.
Absolutely no uniforms.
I think I would urge active duty military to go to the sidelines.
The reasons are procedural as well as pragmatic.
We don't want any obvious partisan behavior from active duty military that can be identified as such. As an institution, you all must understand the reasoning.
Nonetheless, I hope the house is rocked!

What about celebs? People like Ron Silver and the younger Baldwin brother. They are supporting Bush and would likely love to participate in the one event that burries sKerry. _________________ USMC res 3rd ANGLICO

JAG assures me that Active Duty military can participate in partisan rallies and campaigns.
You cannot represent your service but you can represent yourself as a US citizen. It is best to be in civies.
You cannot slur or demean elected officials -- but you sure as heck can cheer and scream when the time is right.

For those of you who are strapped for cash try your friends, neighbors, relatives for frequent flyer miles. Remember they can also be used for hotels, motels. |

I don't have a firm time yet. Anyone have thoughts on this?
We are setting the agenda here anyway...

It's 1:00am here and I'm pooped. Have to get up early to make 200 calls into PA for the RTL Republicans for Bush. I'll pick this up in the AM and hope to hear that we've made our quota. _________________ Ret. USMC Korean War Vet. |

High Noon sounds poetic to me. When is the marathon and where? Some coordination is prudent...they need to have a heads up to not be in uniform. And location? CTW
