Quote:
In order to oppose the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, Carter and Zbigniew Brzezinski started a $40 billion program of training Islamic fundamentalists in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In retrospect, this contributed to the collapse of the Soviet Union, but, ironically, is also often tied to the resulting instability of post-Soviet Afghani governments, which led to the rise of Islamic theocracy in the region. Some even tie the program to the 1996 coup that established the Taliban regime in Afghanistan and to the creation of violent Islamic terrorist groups. At the time, and perhaps continuing into the Reagan and G.H.W. Bush presidencies, Islamic fundamentalism as a political force was not well understood.

Do you remember when the Shah of Iran left Iran and the fundalmentalists took over? That was the start of over the top radical Islam and that was under Carter's watch also. That was when the Iranians took our people hostage in the US embassy and it also resulted in bodies of our servicemen (trying to do a rescue attempt) being dragged through the streets of Tehran which was televised all over the world. Then Reagan got elected and the hostages were let go right before he got into office.

It appears the radical Islamic fundalmentalists prefer Democrat Presidents rather than Republicans for the Republicans Presidents won't let them get away with much.

when the Shah left, radical islamist Khomenei came back from his FRENCH EXILE. That's the main proof showing how "convenient" this muslim extrimism appears to be to large part of the French partisan landscape - from left to right.

Frankly, France is virtually the ONLY countrywhere it doesn't matter who wins. All policy from that source is CRAP and that country wants to dominate European institutions - what a joke !

The "social democrats" there are literally Mullah-Huggers. The right is almost equally Anti-American (with some notable exceptions - like Mr. Sarkozy who appears to be literally in a power-wrangling with Chirac at this time). Both blocs believe in permanent "Colbertist" mingling and tinkering of the many layers of government with private sector business and the economy. Both hate free markets.

French is literally the WORST place for liberty and freedom in the "Western" world. How hypocritical Mr. Chirac really is can only be judged when confronting his own actions in supposedly French "backyard" Africa - where regimes are changed at his will without involving the UN much aside from reporting the newly instituted "governments" there to them and IRAQ where the Mullah-huggers wanted to prevent the US from implementing the UN's own resultions

maybe the best would be to exile Mr. Kerry to Paris... <g>

Just say no to FRANCE the "grande nation"
MAXX (from Austria)
had enough'
