They're going to call only the most obvious states.

They want a horserace and they want to pull for "their boy" until the last possible minute.

I wouldn't put it past them to call a state for Kerry with 1% of precincts reporting and a half-point lead, but waiting until 90% of the precincts are reported with an 8-10 point lead before they'll call that state for Bush.

That way, they can keep the electoral vote looking close all night. Ratings, ratings, ratings - they've put a hell of a lot of money into this campaign and election coverage and they want a return on their investment. Wink
