Reid of Nevada doesn't have the votes, lil' Dick Durbin of IL has the position sewn up. Something about leadership positions going to Blue states only.

Let me give you some lil' Dick history. He was a downstate Rep for several cycles, defender of 2nd Amendment, pro-lifer what they called a blue dog Dem. Over 3 years his positions changed so he could run for IL Senator seat that Paul Simon left open. In those 3 years, he became enlightened and a pro-abort, gun control loving socialist.

Could be a contest between two partisans. Some fun in store, mebbe, Eh? Possibly a job for UN monitors. I Love it.

Again, Harry Reid has Minority Leader job locked up. Dick Durbin will take Reid`s old job as Mino0rity Whip.

Not possible. Harry Reid of Nevada is a shoo-in. Besides many democrats blame Kerry for being a factor for the loss in South Dakota. In their minds losing Tom Daschle was a worse defeat than Kerry`s.

I am sure that in hindsight, Dashole wishes he had not fraudulently aided Johnson to a win two years ago against Thune.

All things considered John Fraud would make a great minority leader, since, in the words of Navy Chief, when does this guy ever do any work.

Kerry couldn't handle the spotlight. I mean he has scarcely been seen in the senate for 20 years. Why do you think Kennedy has avoided it.

Kerry will not take it even if it is offered. The next two years are going to be hard for Dems in the Senate and the Minority Leader is going to have to take the position of being against everything Bush wants. Since the majority of the country has voted in favor of Bush's policies this would put him a high profile bad light that he cannot afford right now. This is just talk and a way of throwing a bone to make the Kerry voters feel better. This is the party that respects feelings more than logic you know.

The dems are going to need someone who can keep them all singing the same tune in order to counter the republicans...
This takes a leader - someone who can rally them, and give them clear direction --- Kerry can't do this...

Ted Kennedy would back Kerry, but I'm not sure he's got enough clout anymore....

Jack M, You are correct, I mis-read the article. But we'll see if there not any internal fighting. Of course, if won't be reported on the CLM.
