It's also not just the communism. As I added to my original post:
But you should understand something: it's not so much John Kerry the man. It's all that he stands for. Namely, the massive Mind F**k he and his minions in VVAW engineered, perhaps the largest mind f**k against honorable men in history.
I'm sorry for the non-medical terms, guys, but there is not a World Health Organization-approved medical term for "mindf**k"...
However, as a doc I can recommend using that last thought as an antiserum (antidote) to the horrible disappointment and disenfranchisement you felt on return...

Cranial Intercourse?
Psychoconjugation?
Nervosa Orgasmas?
Oh wait - there's a better term already defined: DEMOCRAT

An apology and -- it is hoped -- healing on Bainbridge
By ROBERT L. JAMIESON Jr.
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER COLUMNIST
The mayor of the community, six miles west of Seattle, has apologized for the way a U.S. veteran of the Iraq war was treated during a holiday parade there.
"I called him Monday night," Mayor Darlene Kordonowy told me yesterday. "I felt badly about his experience. He was distressed and distraught about what happened when I talked to him."
Jason Gilson, 23, was booed and called names such as "murderer" during the island's recent Fourth of July celebration. Ignoramuses in the crowd took umbrage with Gilson, who was disabled in battle near Nasiriyah. During the parade, Gilson wore his medals and carried a sign: "Veterans for Bush."
~snip
And the flood of e-mails that I have received from people across America suggests the public wants Gilson to know something.
"I applaud this soldier and the gift he gave us through his service," writes Nancy, echoing many.
"Please pass on my thanks to Jason for his service," adds a reader named Ed.
People can thank Gilson directly by e-mail at this address: patrioticfamily@hotmail.com. _________________ .

Well, I just sent this off to the Midland Dispatch-Telegraph...

I would like to draw your attention to 2 articles recently published
by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in which Midland was obliquely
disparaged.
Your community was mentioned in the context of a recent incident
that occured on Bainbridge Island in the Seattle area.
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/jamieson/181422_robert09.html
Apparently, an Iraqi War veteran was humiliated by several local
residents (allegedly by the parade "announcer" as well) while marching
under a "Veterans for Bush" banner in a local 4th of July parade.
In the followup article,
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/jamieson/182359_robert16.html
the reporter, Robert L. Jamieson Jr., made the following
observation....
"A confession.
I am willing to bet my last shiny penny that if Gilson were marching
in a Republican stronghold -- say, Midland, Texas -- and carrying a
pro-Kerry sign, he would be barbecued faster than a longhorn steer.
Aside from not being a family value, intolerance is hardly partisan."
While I'm confident that the population of your community would
be capable of giving the community of Bainbridge a lesson in real
"tolerance", I thought, perhaps, you might wish to consider some
appropriate community response to Mr. Jamieson's vision of Midland
and it's population.
I'm quite sure most residents can afford a stamp and a "shiny penny"
that they might forward to Mr. Jamieson with their compliments as
assistance in keeping him above the poverty line.
Best regards, |

I can’t speek for Texan conservatives but I can not believe they would behave this way. I do not recall any incidents of Uniformed Ameicans being mistreated by conservitives because they support liberal causes. However if we want to get into the Kerry authored VVAW dogma we can find thousands of examples of liberals mistreating veterans. _________________ Defender of the honor of those in harms way keeping us out of harms way.

I have faith in the basic graciousness and hospitality of my fellow Texans. Kerry sign or not, the veteran would have been applauded in Texas.
Hell, it's almost impossible to get Dallas Cowboy fans to even boo the opposition! _________________ "If he believes his 1971 indictment of his country and his fellow veterans was true, then he couldn't possibly be proud of his Vietnam service." |

Enjoyed your first line which was where your response went "off message", so I didn't bother with the remainder. Must be a PhD thang, no wonder the Left stole the technique...seems to excite most journalists, too! Come to think of it, Politicians seem to use the jump shift when a particularly ornery question comes along. Now that said, I seem to remember a couple murderers and rapists use that dodge on the witness stand!
And I'll bet you learned that rot in Academia!
