Knighthawk:

Wow! that was refreshing!!! I don't think your language warning was quite strong enough..... Smile

Mark my words, folks, This is just the beginning. The next four years and the next election are going to be put in the record books. Well, if they want a revolution, BRING IT ON!!! The "party of tollerance" is anything but. I seriously hope that they put doofus Howie Dean in charge. The defections will be catastrophic and then they can re-name the party correctly...... THE AMERICAN COMMUNIST PARTY

Now I just went to Rush Limbaugh's website, and he's got a map of the US divided int red states and blue states.

According to his map, there's not that many blue states.

Can anybody tell me if Washington DC went blue or red?

My thinking is that if these folks actually decide to secede from the Union, we should let them...and cut off all federal funding post-haste.

I'm sure that people in the red states would welcome any major corporations from the blue states that wanted to relocate to a red state.

Gee, I wonder how long those secessionist "countries" can survive without federal funding? And how many of their ethnic minorities would be moving en masse to the red states once the government cash cow was taken away from them?

Let's hope the blues all get out of the country. Obviously, they never really believed in freedom of speech or differences of opinion or they wouldn't be having such a terrible time accepting the vote. They are like a bunch of spoiled brats who have gotten their way far too long. Their true feelings about anyone south of their precious "blue" states is coming out loud and clear.

It always makes me smile, yet feel sad at the same time, when liberal
elites are so well educated that they are too ignorant to know what is
really important in life - your relationship with God. As Rick Warren
says in his best-selling book, The Purpose Driven Life, the time
we spend here on earth is insignificant when compared to the length
of time we will spend in eternity. There will come a day when they
will know that God is real and that they have made a terrible mistake.
It will be too late and all of their riches and their education will not be
able to save them.

If these crybabies are really serious about seceding, they might find themselves VERY isolated, in big cities.

If you take Philadelphia out of PA, Bush won the rest of PA (including Pittsburgh) by 270,155 votes.

If you take Chicago out of IL, Bush won the rest of IL by 108,014 votes.

If you take Seattle out of WA, Bush won the rest of WA by 50,205 votes.

If you take San Francisco and Los Angeles out of CA, Bush won the rest of California by 91,049 votes.

If you take New York City (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island) out of New York State, Kerry won the rest of New York State by only 83,019 votes--less than 2%.

There aren't very many blue STATES, only blue CITIES.

If all these inner-city dwellers (excluding the suburbs) decided to be their own country, since most of the good farmland is in red counties, who would feed them? They should be THANKFUL (as I am, in a blue state) that there are good people in red states willing to feed and defend them, and remain in the UNITED States of America!

How about we let the blues secede and take all property with them except for real estate. We claim that as spoils. Twisted Evil

Washington DC; a spectacular model of how to run a third world city, right in the shadow of the Capitol.

If I ever want to murder anyone (I mean, seriously, not just, you know, fantasize about it) I am going to ask them to meet me in Washington and then talk them into going for a walk in any park in the city. I could shoot him or her in the back 4 times and they would rule it a suicide. I could shoot them in broad daylight, leave a business card, my thumb and forefinger prints, a signed 8x10 glossy, and my home telephone number and they would be "following up leads" for 6 years.

When my husband was at the Pentagon he would freak out if I was in DC after dark. FREAK. Send people to escort me back across the Potomac. You would have thought it was the Sunni triangle.

Good ol' Washington, DC--it has the highest unsolved murder rate in the nation. 2nd to what? Detroit? Oppps, another blue city...gee whiz, I want what that means? Do you think these blue areas aren't ...well-run?

Has anyone else noticed how proud these left of left liberals are of "education"? Not intelligence. Education! They remind me of the NEA with their emphasis on educational credits - not how well they can teach, not whether they know their subjects, but how many credit hours of educational education they have.

And they probably have a good point. High density cities probably do have a much higher proportion per capita of credit hours of "education." Which sort of begs the question of the quality of education of these liberals.

I'll betcha that almost all the institutions of socialistic education are city-based, and mainly in those blue cities (not counties or states). It would make for an interesting study, and I'll give to 10-to-1 odds right now that such a study would conclude that there is an almost perfect correlation between citified far-left liberals and them having spent too much time in socialist studies with socialist instructors (who have never dared to show their faces in the real world).

I can sit by my dogs and look over and see the mountains... (if they don't build another house tomorrow) in all directions around me - now, this is living to me!!!! just need a rock'n chair and a shotgun!

People like that letter writer who go on long rants about EEEVVIIILLL Corporations make me just shake my head in wonder at their ignorance.

At worst, a corporation might sue you, or repossess something you bought on credit, or get a judgement against you and garnish your wages.
If you work for them they set your pay and work rules but if you are not happy you can always improve your skills and work elsewhere or start your own business. A corporation is bound at every turn by rules and laws of government, watched like a hawk by every arm of the media, and constantly attacked by every left-wing watchdog group. What's so bad about that?

Government, on the other hand, can send men with guns to force you to do it's will. Government can imprison you, take your property, make laws it forces you to abide by, tax away your hard earned money, control your life in thousands of ways, force you into military service, pry into every aspect of your private life, and even kill you.

Yet these same people who fear corporations also work tirelessly to expand the size and power of government and extend it's reach into our lives. I will never understand that way of thinking!

Hammer2, what a well written post.

Here I was talking (fantasizing, maybe, a little) about how to get away with murder in our nation's capital, and you wrote this excellent post about the perils of government power and the lefts' embrace of what amounts to fascism, if left to its own devises.

Gee whiz, if I had any class at all I would be embarrased about using up band width just to act silly.

Good thing I don't then. whew.

Hey Stevie, don't take your shotgun to Washington. They have very strict laws against guns there....<snicker> because we all know strict gun laws are axiomatic to lower crime. Shocked
