LimaCharley,
A few weeks after I arrived in Qui Nhon, one of the guys gave me a tour of the tank. As I recall he was especially proud of the bilge pump installation. He told me that it was probably the only tank in existance with a bilge pump. He was probably right. I think it was a gunny or a boatswain that gave me the tour. During my 4-1/2 months in Qui Nhon, I saw your tank in action only once when a small group of snipers started plinking into the base from up on the hill behind us. We didn't have any casualties, but there was some excitement for a hour or so. A recon the following morning found a few spots of blood and some shell casings up where we'd been shooting, but that was all. _________________ Swift Boats - Qui Nhon (12/69-4/70), Cat Lo (4/70-5/70), Vung Tau (5/70-12/71) |
