Brinkely: Kerry vs Hillary in 2008?

Hillary Clinton may have to battle John Kerry for their party's presidential nomination in 2008, Kerry biographer Douglas Brinkley warned Friday, saying the Massachussetts Democrat isn't likely to give up his presidential ambitions after just one try.

Addressing prospects for a Kerry comeback, Brinkley told radio host Don Imus, "I would not rule it out, knowing the man."
In the next breath the "Tour of Duty" author took a shot at Kerry's competition:

"Hillary Clinton, I think, is too polarizing a figure to get the Democratic nomination. I can't see her winning over any red states."

Kerry, on the other hand, has "opened up the electorate, brought in a lot of new Democrats and he conceded with honor," said Brinkely. "Once he gets his fight back, I don't think you're going to see this guy disappear."

Kerry Mulling 2008 Run

Four days after losing the election to President Bush, John Kerry was already dropping hints that he hasn't given up hope of winning the White House.

"Kerry fueled talk about a 2008 bid during remarks at a Washington restaurant Saturday night," reports the Washington Post.

Story Continues Below

"Sometimes God tests you," the defeated liberal told 400 of his aides gathered for the event, an aide told the paper. "I'm a fighter, and I've come back before."
The comments reportedly drew "a thunderous reaction" from the group.

While Kerry was in Washington talking about 2008, his brother Cameron was dropping similar hints up in Boston.

Calling another White House run by his brother "conceivable," the Kerry sibling told the Boston Globe: "He's in a position of national leadership. He's going to exercise that role and be a voice for the 55 million people who voted for him. The position he's in gives him a bully pulpit."

Partying 'After Sunset'

Either John Kerry hasn't decompressed yet or he’s just a glutton for punishment, but the former Democratic nominee says wants to run for president again.

That was the word last night from his old friend, Rep. Edward Markey of Massachusetts, a 28-year congressman who might have succeeded Kerry in the Senate had the presidential election tuned out differently. Markey was a guest last night at the big Mardi Gras party thrown for the New Line film "After the Sunset."

Markey said he spoke to Kerry for about 20 minutes a few days ago and reported that the senator is in good spirits.

"He wants to run again," Markey said while a Mardi Gras marching band called Junkanoo played a wild oompa-pa-pa version of Sam Cooke's "Cupid."

The problem with John Kerry is that he isn't a leader. In no stretch
of the immagination can it be said that he led ANYONE at anytime,
anywhere. Self promotion isn't leadership. He didn't lead anything
in the Senate. He was a follower. Now, with Tom Daschle out of the
Senate, the Minority Leader position is wide open. John Kerry will not
be going for that position as it requires rather extreme leadership
abilities. Leading a party in the Senate has gotta be like herding cats.
Daschle, as much as I dislike him, could hold down the job and give
organisation to his party in the Senate. I'm thinking that Schumer or
Hillary might want to evolve into a minority leader, but I think that
Hillary will standdown and make a move WAY to the right for the next
four years. We seem to live in "interesting" times.

Hillary has already begun here 'move' to the right. So we must encourage the people that are moving to bring the Clintons to justice. What we need to do, is help motivate a group into becomming the anti-Clinton version of the Swiftvets. Some of Bill's own cabnet members might be a good place to start like Charles Schumer... Isn't he the one that wrote the book, "Because He Could"? Anyways, there needs to be some group as dedicated as the Swiftvets in educating people about a liar and a traitor.

Kerry is done. Party insiders will not let him run again. He will be as relevant as Gore was in 2004. Kerry will be of less significance than Gore because he said more ridiculous things that can be used against him. People proposing this lunacy can't seperate campaign rhetoric from reality. They really expect this country to go to hell in a hand basket. What happens when there is no draft, when Bush keeps his promise to senoirs, when Iraq stabilizes. He will look like an idiot. If it wasn't for the insurgency in Iraq and media propaganda about jobs, Kerry would have lost by 15 points. In 2008, there will be no insurgency and all the rhetoric about obs will be revealed as just that - rhetoric.

Also, it was Dick Morris not Schumer and Dick Morris hasn't hada good insight in about six years. But the CLintons were more closely tied to communists than Kerry. However, they somehow manged to innoculate themselves from the past. Thee's just to many people out there who are suckers for Bubba's routine.

If you want to join a movement to bring the Clintons to justice, you should probably check out Judicial Watch. They have several lawsuits going against both Clintons, including one concerning a $2 million campaign finance violation during Hillary Clinton's 2000 Senate campaign. They have made progress--they even brought one of Clinton's victims out of a Brazilian jail to testify against them.

But the wheels of justice turn slowly, and there could be all sorts of appeals and counter-appeals, which could take many months. The Clintons, rich from all their book royalties, can afford good lawyers. But if enough people join their efforts (they rely on donations to fund their lawsuits, and their lawyers work pro-bono when they can), maybe the Clintons can be brought to justice before 2008.

Even if the lawsuits are not succesful, I am sure they will get a lot of publicity from conservative talkshow hosts, bloggers, FoxNews, Christian Talk Show hosts (who were big supporters of the SwiftVets btw), and the mainstream media trying to discredit the stories (which would only lead to more people hearing about the lawsuit)

I think the situation in Iraq will be stabilized by '08 but wonder if we will need to be in Iran or ?? by then. Mostly, I must agree with many economists that believe the economy will do well through qtr 2 '05 and possibly a little longer. However, after that it is strongly suggested by many there will be a deep and prolonged recession for many reasons. That alone will give the GOP serious problems. Add in a sad job situation again, inflation or most likely stagflation and things will be difficult. Any problem with the economy will need various positives to be overcome for '08. Expect no help from any elected Dems at that point.

I beleive that Dick Morris wrote the book, "because he could". He did work for the Clintons in the past. He especially dislikes Hillary. He also predicts that she will move to the right, and that she is interested in the 2008 run. He also predicts that if elected she will govern from the FAR left.

Kerry's simply continuing in his narcissistic delusions.

Surely he doesn't believe that anyone but his KookAde drinkers are falling for this new assertiveness?

Surely he doesn't believe that four years from now, he will not be a completely laughable caricature of the war hero he sold to the DNC?

Four years from now, there will be dozens (if not hundreds) of sites on the internet which tell the truth about John Kerry, his finances, the VVAW, his chairmanship of the POW/MIA committee in the Senate, his attempts to maim our military and our intelligence.

What, does he think that we're all just going to go away, now that this election is done? Hell, some of us are already working on our own Senators, trying to keep this poseur from being assigned to any committees having anything to do with our national defense or intelligence. Get that hornet's nest stirred, folks! Wink

As for Hillary- when the word gets out, she'll have about the same viability for the Presidency as Kerry will have, by 2008. If you haven't read these, I highly recommend them.

American Evita - Christopher Anderson (scary snit in there! Shocked )
Re-Writing History - Dick Morris
Because He Could - Dick Morris
Dereliction of Duty - Buzz Patterson
Reckless Disregard - Buzz Patterson
Unholy Alliance - David Horowitz

and http://www.stophillarypac.org - add it to your favorites and start spreading the word, now. Wink

All her political moves have been predicted and some pretty strong evidence against her past behaviour has been thoroughly documented in those books I mentioned. No time like the present to start paying attention to what this conniving little socialist is doing.

So, what is being speculated here is that in 2008 we will see Hilary and Kerry competing for their party's nomination for president of the United States. This is very interesting since both have wanted the job for many, many years. The primary would be interesting as well since there is no love between these two. Kerry spoke out during the campaign about the lack of support he received from the Clintons. You were surprised, John? Regardless of the outcome of the primary, don't look for either of these two to run as VP for the other.
Both of these people have many skeletons in their closets and neither is fit to hold the position of Senator, let alone President and Commander In Chief.
John Kerry will begin campaigning immediately. Everything he does, every word he speaks will be to promote himself in 2008. Hilary, on the other hand, will not. She will play the role and let other people do the promoting for her. She will smile that Hilary smile and act as if she has no desire to be president, that she only wants what's best for her party. In the end, she will state that if her party feels that she is the best person for the job, she will accept the responsibility and give it her all. She is a very dangerous person.
Taking these two on will be a major task but it must be done. Each, in their own right, can do much damage to this country. And each, unfortunately, have a shot in 2008.

In 2008, forged documents will prove that Kerry wrote
numerous pieces of landmark legislation during his 24
years as a US Senator.
Get over it.
