Veteran CBS News Anchor Dan Rather to Resign

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Veteran newsman Dan Rather, embroiled in a recent journalism
scandal about President Bush's service in the National Guard during the Vietnam War,
will resign in March as the CBS network's top news anchor, the network said on Tuesday.

If John Roberts replaces Rather it will be more of the same and CBS will have learned no lessons. If they are to restore their credibility they either have to go to their sports division and name Jim Nance or raid Fox and pick Brit Hume or Chris Wallace.

What is with the time delays on liberals and quitting their jobs?? The McGrevy(?) guy and now Rather. When you quit a job you walk out. Ok two weeks notice is alright but 4 months notice???

Rathers stepping down is like stepping down on a banana peel, In trying to report that false story & standing behind it, he is really being pushed out & is going out in disgrace.

Who wants to listen to him anymore? maybe the libs that watch 60 minutes , cause I sure don't watch it.

CBS can never get thier credibility back. They just don't get it. The regular networks have not got it for the last 15-20 years.

They are the old media !!! they think themsleves important but they are not.

Maria you are right. We aren't rid of him. I don't watch him ever, but, someone will still be influenced by him,and his replacement will be the same. I am happy that his face will be gone from the nightly news, and I am glad that he left after being disgraced.
