The word is beginning to spread...here's an independent story from the NY Daily News. Unfortunately, the author somewhat mis-characterizes the mission of SBVFT in that he fails to note the primary focus on Kerry's post-Vietnam slander and treasonous conduct.

DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU
July 28, 2004

WASHINGTON - The tributes to John Kerry's courage from his Vietnam crew mates stirred up decades-old resentment yesterday among other Swift boat officers still angry at his anti-war protests.
"A majority of us at his level had a difficult time working with him," said Tom Wright, a lieutenant who served on other boats in Kerry's division in 1968-69.

"A majority of the officers who served with Kerry do not believe he is fit to be commander-in-chief," said Wright, 61, now a maritime consultant in Savannah, Ga.

Kerry infuriated many vets when he returned from Vietnam to lead anti-war protests and charge that U.S. troops had committed war crimes.

The late President Richard Nixon denounced Kerry on the Watergate tapes and backed former Swift boat Lt. John O'Neill in his debates with Kerry in the early '70s.

Several former Swift boat officers have launched a Web site - Swift Boat Veterans for Truth - to challenge Kerry's war decorations and his fitness to be President.
