Another great article by Mr. Sowell.

Excerpt,

Quote:
Nothing could be more jolting and discordant with the vision of today's intellectuals than the fact that it was businessmen, devout religious leaders and Western imperialists who together destroyed slavery around the world. And if it doesn't fit their vision, it is the same to them as if it never happened.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe slavery was still legal in Saudi Arabia until 1964. I also found it quite interesting that during our racial equality struggle of the 60's the United States was often criticized by many foreign government's for our racial policies, most notably, India, who still today embraces a caste system. Slavery has always been wrong. Perhaps the enlightend liberals should take notice that 50 million people have been liberated in the last four years thanks to the sacrifices of the United States military. There must be some truth to the statement " For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a taste the protected will never know.
Liberal's profess we're all equal, but in their mind set, some are more equal than others.
