Just got news today that a niece is in one hospital for surgery for a brain tumor, and her husband is in another hospital with spinal meningitis. They have two young children. Your prayers for all concerned would be most appreciated.

Thank you

Hello,

I will pray and expect a miracle.

Matthew 8:14-15

(King James Version)

14 And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever.

15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

Thank you all very much. This is greatly appreciated.

Our niece has had her surgery. She can't speak yet, and isn't yet moving or even opening her eyes on her own, but if her eyes are opened for her, she can respond to questions by closing them to indicate her answer when asked. They say she's doing well. We haven't yet heard how her husband is doing.

Thank you - and may God return blessings on your heads for your kindness.

I requested a blessing for you and your family from the Church Of The Nativity

It usually takes some time for the actual mass to be booked, etc but I will let you know when I receive the certificate by email.

MLB, I am having a hard time giving a prayer. I did pray with your words in mind but failed to convince myself I had been comitted to honesty, as opposed to self-interest.

This is not a reflection of you or your family, but rather me. I need to become stronger to give blessing of prayer to those I do not know without condition

It is hard, very hard for me to pray for those in need because I have sacrificed so little and have had a very cherished life.

Note: for you UN Autocrats, when I mean cherished life it means a life of growing up in America as opposed to Rwanda or Sudan the countries you supposedly watched, yet were destroyed by your evil complicity.

I am praying MLB, just not sure of its worth.

Prayer is the key and faith unlocks the door.

Psalm 22:16-18

(King James Version)

Public Domain

16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me:
they pierced my hands and my feet
.

17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Isaiah 53:1-12

(King James Version)

Public Domain

1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a
root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness;
and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not
.

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was
upon him; and with his stripes we are healed
.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned
every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened
not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in
his death; because he had done no violence,
neither was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,
he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the
pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous
servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great,
and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out
his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors;
and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

and rejected of men This Jesus of Calvary

He was wounded for our transgressions
He was bruised for our iniquities

Surely He bore our sorrows And by His stripes
we are healed

Price for healing was paid as those cruel
stripes were made Within Pilates judgement hall

Now His sufferings afford perfect healing for all

This wonderful Healer's mine Came the leper to Christ saying
"Surely I know that Thou, Lord, canst make me whole"

When His great faith was seen Jesus said

"Yes, I will" And touched him and made
him clean

He has healed my sick soul, made me every whit whole
And He'll do the same to you

He's the same yesterday and today and for aye

This Healer of men today

GenrXr

Your words are very meaningful. Thank you so much for your prayers. They are of great worth. You may feel you are not committed to honesty, but I dare say you are most honest.

To have charity for our fellow man - that purest of Godly love - a love without condition, is very rare in this world, even among the best of humanity. As much as we may desire to give without self-interest, we are all human, and most of us struggle with this and often fall short. I especially do. Thankfully God knows the intents and desires of our hearts, and he knows what he can make of us, and we can know that if we earnestly seek after this charity, we will one day receive it to overflowing.

Our local Presbyterian Congregation will have them as well. Prayer works for all people of faith as seen here.

GenXer,

I'm not exactly the "praying kind" either, but I'm sending this prayer request on to family and friends who are, and I'm adding my own 2 cents to God for what it's worth.

I share your basic idea about praying for things that would help me or my family. I don't see the honesty of that kind of begging.

You don't have to convince yourself of the honesty of your motives in praying for somebody else. I am by no means on good terms with God, but the way I look at it is if you're asking Him to help somebody else, and it doesn't help you in any way, you're just asking out of basic decency, the honesty is there. I hope it helps, and the only faith I have is that God will consider it if I'm asking his help for somebody else I don't even know.

I have sacrificed a little and God has blessed me far beyond what I could have imagined possible despite my not spending any effort thanking or praising Him for those blessings. I guess I have been too focused on the basic problem that started my difference with God. And I have to keep in mind that the petty little mosquito bites I have endured are by no means relevant to the far worse things others have endured. You combat vets, for example. What right do I have to complain considering what you guys went through? Or what MLB's family is going through?

GenXer, your prayers for MLB's family have far more value than you think. It is totally unselfish to ask God to help somebody you don't know. It is equally unselfish to ask His help for family or friends. It doesn't affect how long you breathe, right?

Pray on, man. It can't possibly hurt and it probably will help.
