Jesse Jackson is first and foremost an opportunist. However, he occasionally does the right thing even while he is promoting himself. Remember the navy flier the Syrians shot down over Lebanon in the 80's? Jackson got him sprung from the Syrians. Even Ronald Reagan agreed on that one, "You can't argue with success."

Having said all that, anytime Jackson shows up on an issue, my skepticism rises proportionately.
