and the tv was on, Fox news, and all of a sudden I could have sworn
that I heard Bob Hope on the news! I heard laughing and I thought they
were showing old clips of him. It sounded like him! I went into the other room and to my surprise, it was Dick Cheney!

I watched Dick Cheny on FOX yesterday evening too. I never
thought about WHO he sounded like because I was watching
while he was talking. I'll have to turn up the ears next time
he's on the one eyed god. Bob Hope huh? I went to his show
at NAS Atsugi one cold Christmastime. I still have my ticket
in my cruise book.

We were standing alert on the hot pad in DaNang when Bob Hope came thru. We didn't get to see his show.

Later, we had to settle for Ann Margaret and Johnny Rivers.

Actually, the most entertaining guest we had was Charlton Heston.

He came into the alert trailer, unannounced, with a bunch of Marine Corps brass in trail.

Somebody hollered "ATTENTION ON DECK!" and we all jumped to our feet. Ol' Chuck said something like "ATTENTION, my a$$!" and proceeded to introduce himself all around.

Nobody bothered to tell him that we we were snapping to for the colonels who were with him. But the way he comported himself later in life, I'd have jumped up for him, too.
