From the Hannity radio show today --
A station manager from Wisconsin called Sean hannity, and said he received the fax. He called the lawyer and asked if this was a threat. The lawyer said it was a 'request'. The station manager said the backup the Vets sent with the ad is solid and they are running the ad.
Aint that interesting-- a lot of posturing by the Dems for only a request'

I hope these lawyers do NOT stop trying to keep this ad from getting out. It's available on the internet and the majority of people in the US have internet access at work, if not at home. It's going to get out.
The lawyers thinly veiled threats are going to help bring more people to see what the vets have to say and I'm sure that the biggest effect has been to give more credibility to the Swifts than they EVER intended to give.
I hope the lawyers continue this type of bullying. |
I smell FEAR!
I am not qualified to speak on the facts of this case, as I really don't know them. However, if the Swiftvets ad was REALLY as inaccurate as the other side says, the other side could devastate Swiftvets by countering with an ad that shows the truth. Their attempt at censorship shows that they are really terrified because the ad may well be true.
Instead of throwing water on the fire that Swiftvets started in Kerry's own village, I think they used the gasoline hose by mistake.  [We really need an emoticon for what my friends and I once called a manure-eating grin: lots of teeth showing. "Manure" was not the word we used.]

Per my earlier post with poll it is clear that the majority of the people on this board believe the VVAW Kerry is the one to go after. And I no longer respect Kerry's military record. I do believe it is going to be an up hill fight to re educate the public on the real Kerry military record. The media has their spin all in place. Even FOX upgraded the liberal counter attack by having Susan Estridge stand in for Holmes. With all this said it is worth doing we can not allow lies to go unchallenged. We let the 71 testimony stand unchallenged for 33 years and now the author of the lie is running for CIC. The veterans should have rallied together in 1971 in defense of our honor. We didn't and now we have a chance to make a correction and we will march on my brother’s march on.

I would like to see the anti-war activities and the 71 testimony be pushed a lot more then trying to discredit his short term In Country. A lot of people remember Jane 'Hanoi' Fonda and can better relate to her activites. Kerry's activities with her group and his group is what will really turn people around. Hearing Kerry's voice at the 71 testimony will kill him.
If the lawyers and media start pushing too much about the ad, we can just say "It's a 30 second documentary". If Michael Moore can do it, so can we.

LOL! I called up Elian's office and asked simply: "Are the law offices planning on stopping moveon.org?" They asked if I were apart of a group or a private citizen, I honestly told them "No, I swear I'm a private citizen. Just looking for an answer on that." She took my name and number. I was polite and to the point. Didn't say anything about Swift, or anything else, just moveon.org...
Why?
Well, if they want to talk about defamatory commercials, and say that it's not right and ya-da-ya-da...Fine, then they need to go after all of them. That's the point.
