I was reminded of the MSMs failure to report on John Kerry's war record this week when reports of Able Danger started to surface. It appears that this secret Army project may have fingered Mohammad Atta and several of the 9/11 hijackers as early as 1999 as belonging to an AQ related terrorist cell. Based on this information, it would appear that the 9/11 Commission was at best inept, and worse, may have deliberately overlooked information from this project vital to the 9/11 investigation. Before dismissing the latter as conspiracy quackery, consider the new Able Danger information (compelling enough on its own) in conjunction with what appear to be the preconceived notions of this Committee on what their findings would be, the presence of former Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick as a Commissioner on the Committee (rather than her proper role as a witness being questioned by the Committee) and the still unexplained theft of classified documents by Mr. Sandy Berger, former National Security Advisor, during the preparation of his testimony before the Committee.

Based on what is currently available via testimony on the House floor from Rep. Weldon, and NYT and AP reports (regarding the Able Danger project and the possibility that 9/11 may have been preventable) buried on page A12's of newspapers, does anyone share my outrage? Patriotic Americans this week should be screaming for an investigation of the findings of Able Danger and the proceedings of the previous 9/11 Commission. We should be demanding a reconvening of a new investigation committed to doing everything possible to protect Americans, not political careers, be they Democrat or Republican. It was said well by columnist Mark Steyn today, based on what is now being reported regarding Able Danger, the conclusions of the 9/11 Commission "would be analogous to a Pearl Harbor Commission Report which failed to mention the role of the Japanese."

Would the Swift Vets have any interest in taking up this issue, making it visible to the American public, and calling for an evaluation of new information (via a new Commission) that may change completely our view of the run up of events to 9/11? I have no doubt that the thousands of patriots (and more) who came forward to support truth telling on the Kerry war record would be willing to strongly support a similar campaign regarding events leading up to 9/11.

Hello again, NavyDoc. The Swiftvets have understandably stood down, for the time being. While they may read this and individually take up the cause, as a group, they are currently at rest.

However, several others here have been discussing this and are as outraged as you are. Leftstream media doesn't seem very interested in it either. I feel we could all start pressuring our Congressional Representatives in D.C. to look into this matter and not allow another cover-up. Believe me, talk radio has been covering this extensively and I'm sure they will continue.

NavyDoc,
The Swiftvets have stood down, politically speaking.
The Swiftvets came together in early 2004 when if appeared that one of our own, a Swifty who had disgraced our ranks, turned traitor, and had given aid and assistance to the enemy, was planning to run for President of the United States. The Swiftboat Vets, for the large part, are aging veterans, retired and nearing retirement. We are Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives, but we are Americans all. The one thing that the public, the main stream media, and the politicians couldn't grasp and still haven't grasped, was that our mission had nothing to do with politics or the election of a President. This was a single minded task to prevent John Kerry, a swiftie, from becoming Commander in Chief. Kerry served in the CTF-115 Marketime Task force in the swift boat fleet. It was up to the swiftboat sailors that rode the same boats to stand up and be heard, and to let the world know of Kerry's conduct and treachery.
This task has been accomplished and our mission was successful.
Many of the Swifties taking part in this action are worn out and tired from a conflict that took the better part of a year to accomplish.
This website and blog is a shadow of its former self.
Taking on the politics of the world is not our mission until we decide that it needs taking on. As a group we are at rest, but like Lew says, individually, we sometimes take up one cause or another. Right now, we are resting and watching. Should John Kerry decide to run again, you can be assured that this site will liven up again.

Jack

This matter is getting LOTS of play on the blogosphere as well as
talk radio. As someone previously noted, we can individually contact
our Congress representatives to ask that this be investigated by
Congress; the only body apparently able to carry this forward now.

Typical leftstream media modus operandi.

It points directly at the Clinton Administration, the darlings of the media.

I think this one may be too big to go away.

Your posts should be a reminder to all what great service you have given this nation, at least twice. You are all obviously entitled to stand down, and hopefully you all are correct and you will be able to stay down. However, I recall thinking the same thoughts that you all express here about the Kerry affair. "Surely this is too big to go away? Surely MSM will be forced to pick it up?" MSM never carried it, and while the blogs certainly did, it was the Swift Vets who pushed that rock up and over the hill. Swift Vets forced MSM to confront the story.

You all may be correct. If true, and Weldon is persistent, and the blogs continue their hard work, this story likely (maybe) cannot go away. But look at the recent history. Jamie Gorelick a Commissioner for 9/11! Sandy Berger steals classified documents related to antiterrorism operations during the Clinton administration, stuffs them in his underwear in full view at the Natrional Archives, destroys them and walks away with a slap on the wrist! You couldn't make this stuff up. I would have thought chances of these things happening post 9/11 were pretty unlikely as well.

I dropped this note on your capable doorstep because I know of few other organizations who have proven their absolutle committment to the truth. Truth is a rare commodity these days and why not turn to those who you clearly know understand the concept? Understood you all may not be able to push this rock, but you have set precedent in such matters. If Weldon continues to stick to his story, and lingering questions re Able Danger remain but nothing happens in MSM, you might consider how you all could play a supporting, if not primary role, in getting the truth out regarding 9/11.

NavyDoc, do you remember our Mission from May of 2004? It was to keep Kerry from becoming POTUS and that has happened. For us to take on every political issue or cause against a Democrat or every left wing liberal issue would be insane. They think we were liars or Republican from the last election and we could possible more or less lose credibiltiy if Kerry runs again in 2008 if we keep attacking every issue. I am proud of our group but we are not the saviors of the world and cannot solve every issue. Do not keep asking a group to keep up every agenda you wish solved. Sometimes you just have to form a group yourself to get it completed and resolved.
