In several discussions with proponents of gun control I am often told, "if you have time to grab a gun, you have time to call the Police."

I answer, "true, but what do I do during the 5 to 30 minutes it takes for the Police to respond?"

So far, I haven't received an answer.

On another note, I recently purchased a 1929 US Revolver (Iver Johnson) 32 caliber pistol with a 4 inch barrel, solid frame. It's not really a valuable pistol, but in overall excellent shape for it's age. I'm looking for a set of grips for it and as soon as I find some ammo, the wife and I both are looking forward to seeing how it shoots.

I had forgotten to renew my permit to carry and the Sheriff wouldn't renew it without me taking the stupid class again. After I mentioned to him I had "lived" with an M-16, three hundred rounds of ammo and three or four grenades for at least six months, I got my permit renewed.

And keep your pistol lock on the gun and the ammo in a different place under lock and key.

So that if someone breaks in and want to do you and your family harm they can kill you about 20 different times while you unlock the trigger lock and unlock the ammo drawer and load the piece.

There's a double 12 ga. hanging on the wall rack and a .45 Colt in the top of the closet ready for action at all times cause you just never know.
Out in the middle of the woods, would take the authorities 30 min. to get to us.
Bad guys break in my house.......my family will not be the dead people.

Several people have pointed to a little reported fact. Back in the early 90s, in the L.A. riots over the Rodney King verdict, businesses were burned and looted all over the riot area. All, that is, except for the Koreans that sat on their roofs, armed with private weapons and were ready to shoot anyone that didn't belong.

In fact, I believe that is even mentioned within the gun facts borchure this thread is about.
