Something strikes me as I read the information and posts on this site.

When the war in Viet Nam finally came to an end it was ignored, walked away from, buried, by politicians and the people. The problem is, it was buried alive. It has reared its head from time to time, appeased, like by a wall, and buried again.

I have a feeling this time, it is going to come fully back to life and we as a nation will finally have to face it and deal with it.

"Buried alive" is an excellent metaphor!

Considering the millions of Vietnamese who were butchered when we pulled out (not the several thousand predicted by Kerry), and considering the evil of the Vietnamese benefactors (the now-defunct Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), we will realize we were right to go in there and that the Vietnam vets served as honorably as U.S. soldiers in any other conflict.

Hanna, I think you have something there.
Did you live in Washington during the war protests Kerry organized?
They razed the Mall

I'm just starting to take this in but it seems fairly clear from the outset that John Kerry has asked for this. He refuses to take a definitive stand on any issue at all. His entire platform at the convention was about his war hero status, when even the lowest cretin in the country who was alive in 68 knows dam well Kerry was anything but a war hero. He was the leader and front man for those who slandered a entire generation of soldiers.

Anyone with the slightest knowledge of Military history is well aware that
3 purple hearts--- no injury incurred
1 silver star----- for killing a single soldier..... unarmed
1 bronze star---- for pulling a soldier on board

All within about four weeks time.......
Allot of anecdotes which are full of contradictions within their own
construct

The vast majority of your immediate peer group speaking
out against you

John Kerry is a Fraud

I take my hat off to these Swift Vets.

The thing that really is starting to Tick me off is that the only one that really thinks that Kerry is a Hero is Kerry. He has told his cronies to call him that as well.

Unfortunately, you cannot be a self proclaimed hero. I have been to combat with some of the nations finest soldiers. All of my brothers are heros, however, you will never hear them call themselves Heros. The did the job that was expected of them and did it well. I had the priviledge of leading these fine young people into combat on more than one occasion. When we got back, not one of them considered himself to be a Hero. They just congratulated each other on a job well done.

As the old saying goes, if you have to praise yourself, then you didn't do anything to deserve praise. John Kerry and his Kerry Babies need to learn this.

No, at the time, I was in Denver, Co., busy being a wife and mother, living my life. A not too consistent visit with the evening news had made me decidedly pro war, but that was about as far as it went. To tell you the truth I had a hard time remembering weather it was the North or the Soutn Vietnamese that were the bad guys. I don't take pride in that, but unfortunately there are millions of others out there just like me, if they will admit it.

Since the war ended it has not been easy to find out the truth. The vets for the most part (the good ones) wouldn't talk. I know people still today...a friend has a brother-in-law that was in Nam....will not speak of it, so it is difficult for us to know........anyway....

When Deset Shield started, I vowed I was not going to be ignorant about it. My first question was........where in the world is Iraq??? But at least I am informed, as best as one can be and I thank God everyday for Rush and FOX news. And now, for the men that are stepping forward here. I cannot imagine the heat they are taking. You want to see a hero........look to these men.

When the Kerry types (Hippies--Clinton-Hillary) started spouting off, I found them to be totally disgusting, but to be honest until the Swifties came along, I had no idea of Kerry's involvement in protesting the war. All I knew was that he had served in Vietnam, had "saved" a man and had been decorated, and that he was as liberal as they come.

Also until today, and this site, I did not know Kerry's involvement in Iran Contra and his collaborating with the Communists in Vietnam.

it literally makes me sick and scares me to death, the though that Kerry could possibly be elected, and I pray and I pray.

The Viet Nam war never ended. It just went low key for awhile while the communists butchered their country men. Ironically - we will win the Viet Nam war and perhaps already have. Adam Smith and his invisible hand will accomplish what are government refused to let our fighting men do (despite the fact that they were very capable). As went the Soviet Union - so will go Viet Nam, Korea Cuba and all the remaining hold outs. Even China has unleashed capitalism and eventually, they will bury their thoughts of Mao.

Communism doesn't work - ever - in theory, principle or practice. Capitalism is the only moral system for guiding the economic engine of the world. Just ask the rising Chinese middle class and they would agree. So sad, however - for the last man to be killed by such a corrupt and evil form of government....(that's what Kerry was talking about during his testimony on the Hill...right??)
