The liberal left spin today seems to be how the military screwed up by bombing and thus not capturing these people for interrogation purposes.

Wonder how they would interrogate them. This talking point will not last very long.

Jerry Springer and Al franken seemed despondent on their shows today. Well since they are depressed every day hard to tell whther it is related to the unfortunate demise of one of their finest allies in the war upon America.

I saw this GREAT quote posted over at Captain's Quarters. Posted by NoDonkey:

Would make a great bumper sticker!

"Jordanian sources last night said Zarqawi did not die instantly. Though mortally wounded, he was alive when Iraqi and US troops arrived on the scene. His brutal reign ended 10 minutes after the bombs fell. " --

I'm drinking a dram of Bowmore 17 right now.
Here's to our military for an outstanding job.
Here's to our president for wearing a pair like they belong to him.
Cheers...klink.

Having him dead is certainly better than capturing him and dealing with the circus the left would have made out of his detention, interrogation and trial but there is a special satisfaction knowing that he knew we got him before he died.

I'm going to believe the last thing he saw was an American uniform.

Murtha was all over the airwaves, suggesting that this entire operation could have been handled without troops since it was an airstrike.

I would not wish for any Virginians to be where he is. May he spend eternity with something that looks and sounds like a well known White House correspondant.

May he be greeted by the people he has beheaded and killed, and personally escorted to his new home.

CNN Transcript
Quote:

REP. JOHN MURTHA (D), PENNSYLVANIA: Well, I'm not sure about that. I'm not sure it was a bomb that killed him from the air. So I'm not sure about that. But one thing for sure, this is significant. This is significant, two aspects. One is the fact that Zarqawi is killed, but also the fact that they appointed a defense minister and an interior minister. There's no question we can't win this militarily. So it's a matter of time. The Iraqis are getting better. I think the intelligence came from the Iraqis, as I understand it. Now, this is the early reports. And it came to the security forces and the Iraqis and then passed on to the Americans. So this was a key element. Whether they could have done this themselves in this isolated area, I don't know.

MURTHA: Well, I said it could be done in six months. But I believe it's something that could be worked out very quickly. I think we cannot win this. It's a civil war they're involved in. Al Qaeda's a small part of this. We've diverted ourself away from the real war on terrorism to the war in Iraq, and this is the problem we face. We have Sunnis fighting Shias, and the Americans are caught in between.

MURTHA: I think they'll settle this themselves, just like we settled our civil war ourselves. It's one of those things where we're either going to withdraw now or we're going to wait six months from now or a year from now and be forced to redeploy.

I didnt see this. Some bloggers that did, have reported that the comment "Whether they could have done this themselves" was inference to US troops

he has no doubts that our troops slaughtered innocent civilians, but has doubts whether they did/could nail Zarqawi?

the man really needs new meds
