Grand jury: A display of anger is not a criminal offense. But how about the battery against the officer? Hmmm?

I suppose we'll be treated to the inevitable press conference.

It's true, it's true! They really are 'above the law'.
Odds are Jefferson gets away with taking bribes on film with only a slap on the wrist.
And look at Kerry. One of the worst traitors this country has ever spawned and he's still up there. One of the 'good ole boys'.
And then we wonder why people don't bother to vote.

I'm guessing this grand jury was from DC (anyone know for sure?) - the same citizens that saw fit to keep re-electing Mayor Barry. I guess we should have seen this one coming, if we'd really thought about it.

Yes, it was a DC Grand Jury. Probably not the same jurors who sat on Barry's cases but drawn from the same pool.

I suppose one has to admit that our representative form of government is alive and well in spite of its warts. The people of McKinney's Georgia congressional district decided that she was the person best qualified to represent their interests. I can't imagine that, but there it is. Same with Rep. William Jefferson (D-La) and, sadly, Duke Cunningham (R-Ca) if you look at it objectively.

Two quotes from Winston Churchill are apt:

"The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter." and,

"Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those others that have been tried."

It's sure in need of tweaking, though. For example, term limits maybe?.
