Sent to my disposable email address today;

Quote:
To all the Republicans who sit in their air-conditioned offices and talk of the courage it takes for them to keep young kids in harm's way - I say enough. Karl Rove talking about "cutting and running" while he sits on his big, fat backside-saying "stay the course." I say enough! That's not a plan! We've got to have a new direction, and it's clear we need more Democrats in Congress to get that done.

No matter how obvious the mistakes in Iraq become, or how many Americans get fed up, Republicans in Congress and the White House will label you a traitor to your country if you stand up and question them.

I'm not naïve enough to think it won't be an issue in the election year but accusing people of being unpatriotic cheats good Americans out of any chance for a real resolution to the mess in Iraq. And while this issue of war is neither a Democratic nor a Republican one, the need for new leadership in the House is clearly an issue. (emphasis from original)

While the Republicans have been busy name calling, the situation in Iraq has only gotten worse. The insurgency has grown exponentially. IED attacks, where our troops are sitting ducks for an enemy they can't even see, have increased steadily. And the patience of the American people for this flawed policy is running out.

We need to put an end to these outrageous attacks on people who disagree with Bush and his Rubber Stamp Republican Congress's "sit and watch" plan for Iraq. My colleagues in the House Democratic leadership are so committed to winning a Democratic majority that they have offered to match all contributions that come in from before midnight on June 30th.

With a Democratic majority, we would have an honest debate about the war. The American people's concerns and opposition would be recognized.

Double Your Impact Now With a Matched Gift and Help Win a Democratic Majority.

Last week, during the House floor debate, I hoped the Republicans would have realized that the majority of the American people do not support this war. I hoped that they would have recognized that the American people need more from their government than a Republican Congress that asks no questions and demands no answers. But that didn't happen, and it's clear we need a Democratic majority to chart a new course.

When I offered a concrete plan to get our troops out of harm's way, where they have become the target, I didn't expect every member of Congress or every candidate to agree with my specific proposal in this debate. But I did expect them to acknowledge that there is more to be done than sitting and watching.

Double Your Impact Now With a Matched Gift and Help Win a Democratic Majority.

The single most important thing you can do right now as a supporter of the DCCC is make a contribution.

Thank you for all your help, it's so important.

Sincerely,

Jack Murtha
Member of Congress, Pennsylvania's 12th District

P.S. I hope you will join me in my fight. Our candidates have to be able to fight back against the Rove Machine's traitor talk in order to start getting Congress to move towards finding real solutions. We need a Democratic majority to change the direction in Iraq. Contribute before midnight on June 30th and your contribution will be matched, doubling your impact towards winning a Democratic majority.

In the quest for "cut and run," emails like this will probably be filling mail boxes all over.

My answer to Mr. Murtha is that if he doesn't like the "Traitor Talk," stop acting like one. I haven't heard Rover or any other member of the current administration refer to our troops as "cold blooded murderers," before any investigations are finished or charges filed.

Time is running out for these leftys and they know it. They have to sabotage the war effort craftily in order to regain power and abandon the Iraqis, as they have been consistently doing since after WW2.

The sheer chutzpah of this statement in light of the untempered vitriol that has spewed from Demo leadership over the last 3 years is mind-boggling in its level of hypocrisy.

Just as a side-note, anyone notice the similarity in structure and tone in Murtha's letter and those put out by sKerry (thanks to Lew for providing them)? It very much appears to me that they were written by the same people with the same template.

(Key to similarity: notice the wording and placement of the appeal for funding)

Geesh! Just count the contradictions and projections in only the first three paragraphs...

(Gotta remind myself though that this letter was Murtha's singing to the moonbat choir. So what better tune than the Moonbat Lullaby?)

*Sigh* I guess it's time to roll out the tired, old, ignored provision of the Constitution which should be used against the aiders and comforters, for all the good it will do:

Quote:
Article XIV, Section 3 (emphasis mine to shorten lengthy 19th century sentences)

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

The vast majority of Democrats are committing this crime with every speech they make. The enemy is aided by their remarks and takes comfort from them. We seem to be powerless to do anything about it. Most discouraging.

As far as I can tell, all these emails appealing for donations and presenting the talking points of the day are from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. However, I have to believe they have the approval and cooperation of the likes of Kerry, Murtha, Pelosi, Kennedy and such to place thier names at the end of them.

Quote:
Republicans in Congress and the White House will label you a traitor to your country if you stand up and question them.

I'm calling them on this lie. If anyone has ever uttered the word traitor, it's the bloggers, not the others in the House. Of course, when you engage in traitorous conduct, my guess is Americans will label you a "traitor."

It is shame to watch as the once great party of the Democrats has been taken over by Liberal Loons of today. In reading Ann Coulters book, "Treason," she brings out how the parties have reversed roles after WW2. It was the Republicans pushing for isolationalism back then and the Democrats that led us into that necessary war. Since then, Liberal Socialist, some supporting the failed Soviet Union, have taken control of the Democrat Party and have no stomach for fighting those that attack and kill our citizens. Men like Murtha should realize how important the current fight is, if we wish to retain our ways of life.

If I remember correctly, Joseph Kennedy was the Ambassador in Great Britain prior to WW11 and he was calling for the US to stay out of the War.

They are still not comprehending the noose that the New Media has become around their Marxism. I predict they never will due to their arrogance and stupidity.

A key point is, I believe Murtha and other leftist fellow travelers don't believe what they say, personally**. It is a tactic - they believe that if something outrageous is repeated often enough, it will be believed by the hapless masses. Remember, Leftism, Marxism, Socialism, Communism, etc. aren't about facts or honesty. They are about power, rhetoric, relativity of morals, "competing narratives", and destroying Judeo-Christian culture at any cost. Leftists avoid truth like vampires avoid the sun.

That's why the best response to this bovine fecal matter is not to debate with these people, but to tell them in Drill Sergeant tones to go f*** themselves - while exposing the implications of their b.s. to as many people as possible.

** (John Kerry might believe what he says, which varies all over the map, but in his case this may just be due to narcissism and other mental problems.)
