The Government broke Skilling long ago; everything it does to him now is for pleasure and appeal to the lowest denominator.

The government in this case is prosecutors drunk with power. These people will never be more then second rate attorneys and most likely sub 150k wage earners for life, yet here they have the power to determine justice for a captain of industry. A person of principle would at some point take mercy upon this man, yet for these frustrated prosecutors their appetite to ravish can never be satiated. They will consume and consume until there is nothing left of Skilling. Mercy is a card which will never be played. Amazing how as a society we will grant greater quarter to child molesters, murderers and the like than to a failed business man.

You are so correct.
This is just a simple example of what Liberals do best, demonize the rich, persecute them and then re-distribute their wealth.
Former Enron Corp. CEO Jeffrey Skilling is rich and and these Liberal lawyers see it as their duty to bring him down.
Worst of all they see Skilling as a CAPITALIST, and nothing boils the blood of commies and liberals more than a successful CAPITALIST.
They have more sympathy for child molesters, murders and rapists than they do for hard working people who may have gotten ahead in the world.
(Makes one think of Martha Stewart. These same liberal lawyers couldn't wait to attack her. Why? Because she was rich and successful, and they weren't.)
