I posted this in the open forum and wanted to
repeat it here. Do other veterans agree with me
or disagree? Please give reasons either way. Thanks
.............
15 May post:
There are Swift Boat veterans (and other veterans) who
are Democrats. Others are Republicans. Others
are involved with independent parties. All are Americans.

I personally wish the Democrats would have chosen
someone else to run against President Bush. Just
about anyone else would have been better...and some members
on this forum would probably vote for that Democrat, but
cannot bring themselves to vote for Kerry.

None of the other Democrat candidates are as divisive as Kerry.

If John Kerry becomes the president, I predict it will divide this
country more than it is already divided. During a time
of war, this country needs to come together not have a deeper
divide.

In all seriousness, on a daily basis, I ask myself why the Democratic
Party is about to nominate John Forbes Kerry. He is like
a kick in the solar plexes for every veteran I know (an added note:
especially Vietnam veterans).

That's exactly how I feel when I see or hear him!
Thanks for covering my six last night in the open forum. Isn't it funny how the Kerry hacks got totally off the subject of Kerry's despicable parody of Iwo. None of them could give any justification for it, and none of them found it to be the least bit objectionable.

As far as why Kerry got nominated, I believe that the short-circuiting of Dean had a lot to do with it. The DNC panicked, looked around, and thought they found somebody - anybody - who can beat George Bush. They (I think) have hugely underestimated veteran antipathy towards Kerry; they also forgot, in their foolish haste, that there are 25 million vets in this country, and yes, they will vote - especially if they're pissed off! They should have picked Edwards.

I think that is accurate.

If Edwards or Lieberman or Biden received the nomination, it would be a much more serious threat to the Bush administration. Kerry is a horrible choice.

I'm in total agreement; sub in "Kennedy machine" in what I said. Only thing is (Montana), I'm going to have a hard time looking in this topic again! Oh, wait ... I can pick what page to go to, and I KNOW that repugnant photo won't be on it, right? Confused Semper Fi!

Teddy knows he can never be president so he's got a "Useful Idiot" to manipulate. Old Joe Kennedy could never be president because of his criminal background during prohibition. He was grooming his son, Joe Jr. for the job and only turned to JFK when Joe Jr. was killed over the English Channel in 1944.

Teddy's just taken a page from his father's book and has groomed Kerry as his surrogate. If Kerry gets elected it will be Teddy Kennedy calling all the shots.
