From AP sources, Kerry says visit with troops helps "crystallize" views on Iraq

Quote:
The Associated Press
Saturday, December 16, 2006
BAGHDAD, Iraq
U.S. Sen. John Kerry said Saturday his visit with American and British troops had helped in "crystallizing" his views about the situation in Iraq and he was looking forward to hearing Iraqi ideas about political steps to restore stability here.

*****

"Today was very informative and very helpful in crystallizing some of my thoughts insofar as what we can negotiate ..."

*****

"I certainly learned more about what the troops can or can't achieve,"

Kerry, a sharp critic of Bush administration policies in Iraq, said the most important challenge now was to achieve "whatever success is possible."

In typical Kerryesque white flag waving, nowhere in the articles did I see any mention of "WINNING" or "VICTORY."

In the Washington Post rendition of the same exact story, we read in the opening words:

Quote:
Kerry: Iraq Visit Helped Focus His Views
The Associated Press
Saturday, December 16, 2006; 5:15 PM
BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Sen. John Kerry said meeting with American and British troops in Iraq on Saturday helped clear his thoughts about what needs to be done to stabilize the country and he looked forward to hearing ideas from Iraqis.

Perhaps "crystalized" was too close to "seared, seared into my memory" for them? Shocked Confused Wink

(Do you suppose that it's too late to enter this in any contest?

This was the best picture Reuters did all year- and you know it wasn't Photoshopped!)

Kerry had another lonely meal at the US embassy in Baghdad. Story courtesy of PowerLine

An eyeball witness describes the scene and compares with BOR's visit:

Quote:
"This is a true story.....Check out this photo from our mess hall at the US Embassy yesterday morning. Sen. Kerry found himself all alone while he was over here.

"He cancelled his press conference because no one came, he worked out alone in the gym w/o any soldiers even going up to say hi or ask for an autograph (I was one of those who was in the gym at the same time), and he found himself eating breakfast with only a couple of folks who are obviously not troops.

"What is amazing is Bill O'Reilly came to visit with us and the troops at the CSH the same day and the line for autographs extended through the palace and people waited for two hours to shake his hand. You decide who is more respected and loved by us servicemen and women!"

Can't say I'd stand in line for two hours to meet BOR, but hey, if you gotta stand in line for something, it sure wouldn't be Lurch.

There's a rip-snortin' thread in the new PowerLine forums on the subject of Kerry. It's amazing how many of the contributors there are well-read on the topic of Kerry, his 'heroism' and his slander. There are probably some Swifties forum members there under new handles. I know I am. The lefties are losing IMO. The post count was 84 the last time I checked.

Check it out.

Well it is obvious that the troops are smarter than what Kerry believes them to be.

Recently on FOX, there were 2 programs back-to back, one on Hannity's visit to Iraq, followed by O'Reilly's ..

Missed some of the Hannity segment, but on O'Reilly's, the topic of Jon Cary's comments came up. The troops were politely clear, about their overall intelligence Wink

They had some comments on the LSM 's reporting too

2 great shows
