Wade Sanders, a former deputy assistant secretary of the Navy in the Clinton administration, was sentenced today to three years and one month in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing hundreds of images of child pornography.
Federal prosecutors in San Diego had recommended a sentence of 63 months, but Sanders' attorney had sought probation, arguing that Sanders suffered obsessive-compulsive disorder linked to post-traumatic stress disorder from his combat service in Vietnam.
The U.S. Attorney's office recommended that Sanders, 69, a lawyer and former adviser on veterans affairs to California Lt. Gov. John Garamendi, be sent to a federal facility that treats sex offenders whose crimes did not include contact with victims.
Court documents indicate that 600 images of child pornography, some with children as young as 6, were found on three computers owned by Sanders, who allegedly belonged to a file-sharing network that traded in child pornography.
U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Whelan rejected Sanders' explanation about obsessive-compulsive disorder and PTSD. Among the people sending letters seeking leniency for Sanders were U.S. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), former Rep. Lynn Schenk (D-San Diego) and former Sen. Max Cleland (D-Ga.)
Sanders was ordered to surrender to federal authorities in early July. He could have received a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

His version of PTSD must be "Pedophile Titillation Sales Distributor".
Pedophilia n. an obsession with children as sex objects. Overt acts, including taking sexually explicit photographs, molesting children, and exposing one's genitalia to children are all crimes. The problem with these crimes is that pedophilia is also treated as a mental illness, and the pedophile is often released only to repeat the crimes or escalate the activity to the level of murder. Shame on Kerry and the others who tried to interfere with the execution of justice on this member of Kerry's "Band of Bums". The hypocrisy is stark. Kerry opposes even enhanced interrogation of illegal enemy combatants captured half a world away and wants them to be given protection under the U.S. Constitution within U.S. criminal courts all the while calling our own troops "worse than murderers and worse than the army of Genghis Kahn" and then pleads for MERCY for an America-hating pervert like Sanders. Maybe he should show solidarity with Sanders and join him in his cell for the duration of his sentence.
This is further proof of Kerry's corrupt nature and incompetence as a U.S. Senator. He attempted to use the perceived power of his position and reputation as a U.S. Senator to interfere in a criminal case involving a personal friend...at the least unethical, at worst, a violation of Senate rules and possibly a crime, but probably not, especially in today's corrupt legal climate. Would he want Sanders around HIS kids or grandkids, especially if Sanders were a perfect stranger instead of a personal friend?

My stomach just turns at the thought of this maggot using PTSD as an excuse for his nasty little perversion.
Wade called the swiftees a bunch of "sad, little men" in his amazon.com review - and proved once again that the left always telegraphs itself.
A textbook case of projection from a pathetic little slug.

Sen. John Forbes Kerry has spent the week futilely trying to prop up two of his oldest, dearest friends - the Boston Globe and a convicted kiddie-porn pervert named Wade Sanders.
You know about the Globe. Despite Kerry’s Senate hearings into the implosion of arrogant left-wing newspapers, El Globo continues to circle the drain.
You’ve heard less about Wade Sanders, or nothing at all if you rely on the Globe. He’s a liberal and a pervert and a criminal, and he’s been a close pal of John Kerry’s for 43 years. Nothing to see here, folks, move along.
Anyway, Liveshot’s fellow Swift Boat veteran just got 37 months, despite the junior senator’s letter (on stationery with the Capitol on top) to the judge attesting to Sanders’ good character.
Liveshot said he was shocked, shocked to learn of the despicable kiddie-porn charges against Sanders, who at the time of his arrest was a “senior adviser” to the lieutenant governor of California, a Democrat. “I find myself surprised,” Liveshot wrote. “Completely baffled . . .”
And not for the first time, either.
Wade Sanders got bagged with over 600 images of kiddie porn on his computer, and then claimed he was viewing them for research purposes. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.
Then Kerry’s pal offered an even more hackneyed defense:
Bush did it! That’s right, Sanders told the judge he didn’t start sampling kiddie porn until after he tried to defend Sen. Kerry against the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. That made him a “target” of those rascally Republicans.
“That experience caused a serious resurgence of the PTSD (post-traumatic stress syndrome) symptoms . . . I encountered (kiddie porn) while accidentally downloading what I thought was a comedy video.”
Alas, as The Wall Street Journal noted, the chronology doesn’t work. The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, who supposedly drove John Kerry’s pal to kiddie porn, weren’t formed until May 2004. Sanders began downloading his “comedy videos” in November 2003.
Sen. Kerry, it’s too late now to save your perv pal, but maybe, just maybe it’s not too late to throw the Globe a life preserver. Not with another of your windy perorations, but with cash - Mama Tee’s cash. Pinch Sulzberger would unload the rag for a buck.
Liveshot, you could be the next publisher of the Globe. Those Ivy League bust-outs will be lining up to mindlessly do your bidding - just like they’ve been doing for the last 40 years, come to think of it.

Great press #1, although one wonders, at this point, if it will make the dent that it should. Too many people are either just not well enough informed, or they just plain don't care. Look who got elected POTUS!
