Fianlly, on Special Report with Brit Hume on FOX tonight they discussed Kerry without casting negative aspersions on the Swiftvets. Kerry's quotes from the 70's and 80' about spending Christmas Eve and Christmas 1968 in Cambodia... and something else about President Nixon...

This was great since Nixon was not President in '68. It's an OBVIOUS lie.

This one may be worth pushing harder than anything else. It is so proveable. It can be the one thing that puts Kerry's crediblilty in question and may make non-vets really start questioning his honesty.

This is GREAT.

Thanks again Swiftvets.

Here,
A thread from the ** ( hell yes I troll under the radar over there )

http://www.**/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x739242#739273

A Nam Vet ( screen name DemoTex ) posted on the thread about flying over the Cambodian border.

Don't know how long the thread will remain but it is about Kerry claims exposed as lies. Laughing

Seems to me LBJ ,that Texas democrat, may be mentioned soon.

Might be worth a look-see.

Hanoi John might have heard of the Army LCU 1577 with 11 crewmen that was interned by Cambodia on or about 17 July 1968 and just appropriated the story - with a whole lot of changes - into his own version of his “heroic” persona.

You should cut and paste those gems when you find them. That way if they are deleted at the other website...they will still exist here.

One of the DUers contacted me via email with their "flash" counterargument
and "proof" that Kerry "really was" in Cambodia on Christmas Eve 1968.

ASPB may get a chuckle out of their contention and my reply:

Quote:

==============================================
Your claim doesn't jive with the "Giant Slingshot" operation stories where
there are Swift Boats operating in the area with regularity at the time
Kerry claimed to be there--Christmas of '68.
==============================================

Swift Boats could not, and never did, participate in Giant Slingshot.

The Vam Co Tay and Vam Co Dong rivers were much too shallow
and inaccessible for Swifts to operate there.

Plus ... the PBRs (Patrol Boat River) and Riverine craft that did
participate in Giant Slingshot were definitley restricted to staying
on the South Vietnam side of the "Parrots Beak" near Tay Ninh
The two branches of the Vam Co river petered out long before
they approached the Cambodian border, so there was NO chance
that US or SVN vessels would cross the border in that area.

For a "graphic" description of all of the operations by the Navy's
Swifts, PBRs and Riverine forces in the southern part of the
country (Brown Water Navy) visit:

The Swifts DID indeed go deep into Cambodia during Operation
Tran Hung Dao XI in May-June 1970. Long after Kerry left.

Tell your friends the same thing that Swift Boat OinC Mike
Bernique said when Cambodian Prince Sihanouk accused
him of the violating Cambodian territory in October 1968:

"Tell Sihanouk he is a lying son-of-a *****"
