I ordered one from Amazon last week, but it's not due to ship for nearly two more weeks. This evening I tried my small local bookstore, then Borders, and Barns & Noble, to no avail. The kid at the counter (Borders)said that they'd had a few others in today trying to get a copy. If the money's going to the Swiftie's commercial, I'll keep buying them. I hope they printed a lot!

The royalties of the book are going to the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, according to John O'Neill on Hannity and Colmes. _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I went into Borders a couple of weeks ago and put one on order..they said they have 7 due in....checked today and it has not been shipped...but I have stopped by Waldonbooks and Dalton and asked them the same thing. I think if I keep going in there maybe they will order more. _________________ Born to raise a little hell! |

Yeah, I tried B&N, Waldenbooks, and Borders here in Peoria, but they
didn't have it. Borders did say that they had sold out. But I don't think
that they had it in the first place. I haven't tried Dalton yet. _________________ Tin Can Sailor |

Hi All,
Just checked my Amazon.com account. It shows estimated shipping date as August 20th. Hopefully it will be then or sooner. |

My Amazon order also due before the 20th...
#1 on Amazon - I hope the presses are still cranking 'em out!

When did you order it? I ordered about 7-10 days ago and my order estimates delivery Sept. 30- Oct. 2 and I am ballistic about this. _________________ I'm a U.S. Navy Vietnam War vet against John Kerry

From experience: when you pre-order a book from amazon (before its release date) you can't trust the estimated shipping date. Keep checking your account and I'll bet that it pops up as "shipped." _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I saw a stack of them in a Barnes & Noble on the Upper East Side of Manhattan yesterday.
NNN: Thanks for the info on the royalties. I was wondering if any such thing would be done. Glad it is. One less thing for the Kerryites to use as mudslinging ammo. |

I just got notice that my book shipped yesterday from booksamillion.com - amazon's still showing a late Sept projection.
Anyone seen it yet?
Hopefully, our B&N will have this, tomorrow! I've been bugging them every day and telling them every time I call that this is a blockbuster best-seller! _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

I went to Barnes and Noble in Burlington, MA to buy the Tommy Franks book, and thought I would buy the Unfit for Command at the same time.
When I politely asked the man and woman behind the counter, the woman kind of smiled and the guy became agitated and said it wasn't coming out until September 15th!
I told him that I was under the impression that it had been released for distribution on August 10th, and he became even more agitated, and said "Where are people getting this disinformation from? I have had 50 requests for this book today..."
It was encouraging. A liberal was annoyed, and there seems to be high demand for the book... On the other hand., he wasn't rude, so I guess I really shouldn't make fun of him _________________ Military Brat, USN Aviation Machinist Mate 2nd Class 1975-1979 |
