There will be good days. There will be bad days. Every day will speak to the truth, so the end will be good.

John O'Neil, in addition to his distinguished Naval service, is an accomplished trial attorney. He knows when he has a hostile judge. He held up the book twice during Hardball. It made the abuse worth it, and John knew that would be his best result (although I agree it was great when he came back from commercial and finished the Purple Heart explanation). I quit watching Hardball after the Afghan campaign. My ***** was there when the war broke out, and every night Matthews denounced it as the next Vietnam. I basically had watched the show as amusement because Matthews is inadvertently comical. As the show devolved into a 60-minute Kerry infomercial I quit wasting my eyesight. I haven't missed anything. The man, and I am serious, wants Kerry to win because he needs a job as a speech writer. He soon will be without a job when MSNBC folds. But I rant....

Today John was on the two most hostile venues and networks imaginable. He did no damage to the SVBT, and increased awareness and book sales. For a bad day, that's not a bad day's work.

I hope he will appear on a more serious and reflective program such as Brian Lamb's show. Believe it or not, that CSPAN show has a much larger audience than Hardball.

Thank you Mr. John O'Neill. I watched tonight and was shocked and disgusted at the attack on you, as a person, not on the facts. Chris Matthews showed his bias for all to see. You made me proud tonight sir. Keep up the good fight for truth and keep on keeping on. You are showing everyone, who is fair minded, the distored liberal media.

Not a one gets by my flying fingers! ...Not a one issuing even one stupid offhand comment is spared my support for these vets!!

I'm also telling EVERYONE I'm writing to that they should announce on their show that the '71 debate between Kerry/O'Neill on Cavett is being rebroadcast on C-Span this weekend. Now that some heat is on this topic, perhaps we can get some of these younger people in this country who don't know who Kerry is (or O'Neill, for that matter) AND some of the older folk who HAVE FORGOTTEN -- to get a little bit of information before they shoot their mouths off about that "tricky conservative" John O'Neill (Matthews -- ARGGGH!! what a creep/ Mr Agenda-man). Grace, courage, strength under fire, that's all I can say about John tonight....! I'm so proud of him -- a true rep of our US soldiers.

Ain't lettin' up -- I'm in for the long haul!! Cool

I for one have sent an e-mail to everyone in my address book to e-mail the networks. You know we can call them too. OOH-YAH!

Cali-Heygirl and Beatrice1000

Good for you. Although many of us young bucks and does who weren't there to support our troops then, can support them now. Very Happy

The most telling aspect of the interview, IMHO, was the inadvertant capture of Hurley's smug looking grin as Matthews was rambling on with O'Neill. It had, "The fix was in" for all to see.

We all can be so proud of John ONeill again tonight. He handled himself with grace and dignity while Matthews ended up looking like the jerk he is. I failed to record the interview but it would be interesting to know the total air time John received when compared with Matthews and Hurley`s total time. Can anyone help us with that? Folks, we have a great leader in John ONeill and with his leadership, we will prevail.

Matthews did manage to totally avoid the subject of Cambodia. To me that proves that it is a problem.......a BIG problem.

Matthews is a washed up peacenik who wants to appeal to a younger crowd. If you remember, he did a live show a few weeks ago from Washington D.C., surrounded by kids. He did his Dem Convention show outside, surrounded by kids. Stop and think. These kids haven't the slightest idea what VN was, and people like Matthews want to re-write history, and replace it with the Kerry version. Leftists like him have been comparing Iraq to VN for over a year. They want the kids to believe the U.S. is the bad guy in this, not those who are trying to kill us. They are anti-war, anti-military, liberal hacks.

When John O'Neill or any of the spokesmen for the Swifties appear on the radio or on television, they are proclaiming the real VN experience, not the lies that Kerry tried to perpetrate on the uninformed public. John's appearances today put him up against three of the most partisan libs that money can buy. They've bought into the lies and John O did his best to expose them.

Joe Scarborough is secretly unhappy about the liberal headquarters that is MSNBC. He apparently is a social pariah there. LOL I read this somewhere.

I didn't see the interview -- I don't have cable or satellite, which I regret only rarely, at times like these.

But a few points occur to me from reading the reactions here:

Almost all media coverage is, in a sense, good media coverage. It breaks the dike of "ignore it and it will go away."

Some percentage of Matthews' regular viewers watch just to yell at their TV screens. They already have poor opinions of the host.

Give credit to the collective intelligence of the viewing public. If the host or other debaters didn't shoot straight, used unfair tricks, cut John off, etc., anyone who's at all open minded will notice that -- and draw appropriate inferences that might well be as powerful as what John would have been able to say in a more fair forum. O'Neill knows this -- as others have pointed out, he's tried cases with a hostile judge who's letting John's opponent get away with everything but the kitchen sink. But it's the impression made on the jury that ultimately counts.

Individual jurors, or viewers, may not pick up on all the details, or draw all the appropriate inferences, by themselves. But collectively, they are vastly smarter than any one of us can be individually. This stuff will get talked about at the office watercooler, around the pickup truck's tailgate, at the beauty parlor. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Writing or phoning or emailing the mainstream media is terrific. But if you use all caps, or swear, or otherwise come across as someone ruled by passion instead of logic, you're wasting your time. Indeed, you're doing a disservice because you're reinforcing what the MSM wants to believe anyway. Be polite. Suck up some at first. Then state your observations in the same way you'd explain them to a small child with whom you were not angry. Thank them for giving you the opportunity to express your views and for listening (whether you think they will or not).

Sorry if I'm preaching or repeating stuff that's been posted elsewhere.

Unfortunately I didn't catch Hardball today but I did see Crossfire.

I doubt that Hardball was worse than Crossfire.

If Mr. O'Neil got a whole sentence in it was a lot. I mean the guy was literally shouted down by James Carville & another Kerry mouthpiece.

I mean James Carville was LIVID. But he didn't want any answers. Everytime Mr. O'Neil tried to answer anything he was shouted down Exclamation

Evil or Very Mad
