This should be a big winner for us but you never know since Cal is unpredictable at times. There is quite a lot of pressure at Fox to kill this story by OReilly, Krystal and others. OReilly has a lot of influence since he is their top prime time guy. We have to keep the pressure on Roger Ailes to allow us to present our case.

Hurley's opening remark was so weak and hackneyed that I had to type it up:

"This book is a disgrace. It's a disgrace because it's based on lies and distortions. This book is cowardly. It is cowardly because John O'Neill and his right-wing hang-monging (sic) Jerome Corsi co-author never once tried to interview any of the men who served with John Kerry when he won his silver Star, his Bronze Star and his three Purple Hearts. This book, this...the ads they're running on television and this organization, these Swift Boat Veterans for Bush, is, as John McCain has said...a...it is dishonest and it is dishonorable. And Senator McCain has called upon President Bush to condemn this ad and President Bush, we're still waiting. We would like you to condemn this ad. This is wrong, this is revisionist history, it is unfair, it's character assasination, and it...pure and simple."

Cal did a good job of keeping Hurley in line and giving both men time to speak. He also forced Hurley to admit that he wasn't there. O'Neill did a great job, as usual.

Agreed. Hurley looked bad and was interrupting O'Neill constantly. Thomas was fair, but this story still deserves more than 4-5 minutes of time.

Seems like it is picking up steam though. Hurley mentioned that there was a response on the Kerry website...that must be new. Won't that only draw more attention from the press who will have to look into this?

WOW!

1. Mr. O'Neill finally called Hurley out for "shouting him down" and Cal Thomas let him do it!

2. Cal let John O'Neill answer every charge laid by Hurley.

3. When Hurley said that O'Neill couldn't possibly have written an honest book because he (O'Neill) had never served with Kerry, Cal asked Hurley whether he (Hurley) had served with Kerry, and when told "No" questioned his basis for believing Kerry's version of events!

4. Cal recommended that people read the book in order make up their minds!

John O'Neill did a wonderful job...and for once the "host" (THANKS, Cal) asked some of the right questions....now we can only hope that people (other than the choir) were watching!!

Another victory for John. It wasn`t even close. Again they invoke John McCain and his "dishonest and dishonorable charge against us. Someone posted that McCain didn~t really mean those disparaging remarks for us but Ted Sampley`s group. Why doesn`t McCain apologize if that is true and disarm them?

Did anyone notice that Hurley, who obviously knows the name of the group, referred to it as "Swift Boat Veterans for Bush"?
