More proof Kerry is lying about Cambodia
From
http://www.hughhewitt.com/index.htm#%20postid766.

And here's another e-mail punching holes in the magic hat narrative

"Thanks for your hard word in reporting on Senator Kerry's statements about his travels into Cambodia.

I have a bias in sending this email because I am a conservative who will vote Republican, I am an ex-soldier (82nd Airborne with Combat Patch) and an ex-officer, and I am an American who believes that Senator Kerry would be dangerous as a Commander in Chief.

After reading the "I was in Cambodia" story for hours on end, I see that
Senator Kerry is now claiming that he ferried CIA operatives into Cambodia
on a clandestine basis. A couple of questions came to mind.

Who would use a 55' boat with a crew of six for a covert insertion of
inserting one man? The Swift boat is much too big for that kind of work and,
second, with a crew of six, that's a high number of tongues that might talk.
That just defies logic.

The second item is even more simple - if we postulate that Swift boats were
used, why would anyone choose Lt. Kerry to for such operations?

Consider these items:

- LT Kerry was brand new in country so he knew virtually nothing of the
patrol area or of the people.

- He was new to his command so he couldn't have had the time to train a
crew and mold them into a cohesive fighting force.

- LT Kerry would have had no more than a few months of experience as the
skipper of navy vessel.

- LT Kerry would have had limited combat experience since he was in country
for only 4 months and 12 days.

Put all of these issues together and it leads to the question - Why would
any commander choose a fresh out of school LT with no hands on experience and minimal combat experience for a covert mission when they could have had their pick from any number Swift boat commanders with far more expertise and experience?"

Next kerry will say that he was the only one running the swift boat because of the highly secret nature of the mission. To keep the noise down he pulled the boat while swimming. During this part of the mission he was wounded by a heard of alligators, but could not put in for a purple heart because of the top secret nature of the mission. So to reward him they gave him a magic hat. Kerry should resign.

Simple -- he wouldn't.

LOL. If that doesn't work Kerry will probably say he was really in the CIA and that is why he was sent into Cambodia. And being on a swift boat was just his cover.Really everytime his crew went to sleep Kerry would answer his shoe phone like Get Smart and talk to president elect Nixon .And Kerry would then explain how Nixon would order him to sneak into Cambodia and fight the VC and burn down villages .And he would swim underwater holding his breath the whole 55 miles back to the boat and make it back in time so no one would notice he was even gone.

Kmudd...be careful with words. What you list isn't "proof" per se and Hewitt is careful to point that out.

It at least makes it very unlikely. And even the Kerry Camp is now saying Kerry may have been in Cambodia later and not Christmas 1968 .And that he may have strayed across the border. And not ordered by Nixon.

http://www.jewishworldreview.com/tony/snow.html

versions of Kerry's whereabouts on that day, including this one, released Wednesday by Michael Meehan of the Kerry campaign:

"During John Kerry's service in Vietnam, many times he was on or near the Cambodian border and on one occasion crossed into Cambodia at the request of members of a special operations group operating out of Ha Tien.

"On December 24, 1968 Lieutenant John Kerry and his crew were on patrol in the watery borders between Vietnam and Cambodia deep in enemy territory. In the early afternoon, Kerry's boat, PCF-44, was at Sa Dec and then headed north to the Cambodian border. There, Kerry and his crew along with two other boats were ambushed, taking fire from both sides of the river, and after the firefight were fired upon again. Later that evening during their night patrol they came under friendly fire.

"It is an acknowledged fact that Swift Boat crews regularly operated along the Cambodian border from Ha Tien on the Gulf of Thailand to the rivers of the Mekong south and west of Saigon. Boats often received fire from enemy taking sanctuary across the border. Kerry's was not the only United States riverboat to respond and inadvertently or responsibly across the border. In fact, it was this reality that lead President Nixon to later invade Cambodia itself in 1970."

Even if SOG desired to use swift boats for clandestine missions, I believe they would go to Hoffman or someone else up in the chain of command to secure his cooperation. He would probably pick the boat and commander. We all know it wouldn't be Kerry.

In the second place,Hoffman would know about it and he says it didn't happen. Since not a single swiftee has confirmed they were used in such a manner, it is safe to conclude...Kerry is exaggerating again.
