Quote:

TRA VINH, VIETNAM -- In the spartan banquet room of the Coolong Hotel,
the Communist Party apparatchiks all agree on one thing: ... Democratic
Senator John Kerry is the best candidate for U.S. President.

----

"We hope he wins the election. He is a good man but not a hero. The
only real hero is Uncle Ho," says Tra Vinh Governor Tran Van Ven.

----

The party officials around the table grunted in agreement, raising their
glasses once again. "Yo, dong chi [Down the hatch, comrade]!" Mr. Ven
said.

No one dared to disagree.

Guys,

I don't know about Vietnam itself, but I grew up (and remain friends) with a Vietnamese-American (Vinh Ngyen), and his attitude is reflected by a Fox Poll done in the Vietnamese Community as a whole: Most Vietnamese-Americans (or for that matter those from Indochina in general) would rather vote for a dead rat than John Kerry.

That btw, is cleaning it up a bit.

The little kids need to eat and the "commie" bosses are to busy

calling their bud up at the ski place to notice they kids are

starving.

gilliam,

In many cases they are....by campaigning for President Bush. That is how my friend is speaking out anyway. I don't have the records, but I suspect that you may see some Vietnamese American contributions here too. Private speculation on my part only of course.

Can someone tell me of the name of the bill in 2002 that Kerry had blocked, which would have condemned the Vietnamese communist regime for human right abuses?

When Bush wins he should make Kerry ambasador to Nam. Then when he gets over there revoke his passport.
