People,
Read the story just out on the AP wire. It is the washington post story, but look at the editing. They completely edit out the part where Kerry's boat leave the scene.
Moderators: I apologize if these is considered to be a dupe, but I think this is critical enough to justify it's own thread. _________________ -Polaris

That is just wrong on so many levels... A lie of omission is still a lie.

Do you really think that Fox news and others won't point out that the report indicates that Kerry's boat fled just as the Swiftboat vets have indicated whether that fact was omitted from the AP article or not? |

Is it legal to do that? Maybe the WaPo should be notified and informed how their article has been raped;/ |

Thanks for the link. They all come out together finally and intend to off you by the Sunday morning left-wing worship programs.
This reminds me of a quote.
''A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot
survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for
he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst
those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the
alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor
appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he
wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies
deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works
secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he
infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less
to fear.''

Guys,
We still need to correct the deliberate use of language that tricks the reader into thinking that Thurlow said he was under fire after the engagement. That has to be explained to Brit Hume tonight and I would do so myself if I had his email address.
That said, we need to also inform him and the WaPo that the AP story had inaccurate and misleading editing. [Perhaps this can be another topic on Fox News: BIAS....and tie this right back into our campaign to tank Kerry.

ASPB,
Well, it hasn't bounced, so I guess he got it. We'll see. This is what I wrote (with my name deleted for privacy):
Quote: |
Dear Mr. Hume:
I greatly appreciate the time that you and your reporters at Fox News have taken to honestly and fairly report the allegations leveled by O'Neill's recent book "Unfit for Command"
As I am sure you already know, the Washington Post did a recent news article regarding the incident where then LT (jg) Kerry was awarded the Bronze Star. You need to be aware that the AP story dishonestly edited a major section of that Washington Post story that supported the claims leveled by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. Namely, the Washington Post story confirms that PCF-94 (Kerry's boat) did indeed flee the scene when PCF-3 struck a mine. However, the AP Wire did *NOT* include this detail. As editor, could you please be sure that this detail is included when Fox runs the story.
I also point out that the Washington Post story itself is misleading. They claim that the military records contradict Mr. Thurlow and the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. That isn't entirely accurate. The *citation* does indeed contradict Mr. Thurlow, but Mr. Thurlow and all other suviving skippers of that encounter confirm that there was no enemy fire. The only way to know who is telling the truth would be to get the original after action report so we know who wrote it up along with the medal requests.
I thank you for your time and look forward to hearing and seeing more of your work. As always, I appreciate a fair and balanced look at the world.
Sincerely Yours,
(deleted)
