I have yet to speak, read, or hear of anyone voting FOR Kerry for any reason. I have heard a lot of people who are voting Kerry as a vote AGAINST Bush (I've also seen here and elsewhere several who are voting AGAINST Kerry). After reading the posts at SBVT I have found and read several other sites and I must say that the "conservative" or "republican" based sites have much more articulate and grammatically correct posts when compared to the sophmoric rantings and repeats of the bumper sticker liberals. Has anybody else noticed this?? Or am I just getting old and overly sensitive to the decrease in proper spelling and grammar in our written language?

I can't resist replying to this.

Bush: Not a war hero. Never claimed to be one. Performed some service. Mostly harmless.

Kerry: Claims to be war hero, but actually bugged out early to come home and attack the very men he served with. Very harmful. Only an idiot or a blind man wouldn't pick up on that.

I've been reading and posting on this site since May, and even with threads like "Why are you voting for John Kerry?" no one has ever managed to make a logical case in favor of Kerry -- they've all been ABBs.

I have noticed. It's an ex post facto correlation; one can't tell whether they write badly because they're Moonbats, or whether they're Moonbats because they write badly.

In my view, this organization's simple purpose is to defend these veterans' rights to challenge John Kerry's qualifications to serve as Commander-in-Chief of the U.S.

Kerry has offered up his "exemplary service" 35 years ago in the Vietnam War as his principal qualification to direct today's new war on terror.

These "Swiftboat Veterans for Truth" served with Kerry in Vietnam.

They strongly believe John Kerry is not qualified to be Commander-in-Chief and that he has made gross misrepresentations to the American people, about his own service and about the service of other veterans in Vietnam, including themselves.

These guys are simply fighting for their constitutional right of free speech, so they can defend their integrity by offering what they know from their own first-hand experiences with Kerry and the American people can make informed decisions about the truth before Nov. 2nd.

Every American should want to endorse the effort of these veterans, regardless of party affiliation. It does not matter whether republicans or democrats have donated to this cause. These guys risked their lives for this country, and they sure as hell deserve the right to give their own accounts of what they did in Vietnam.

This has nothing to do with political parties - it has everything to do with the Bill of Rights. But the Democratic Party and its candidate now appear totally ridiculous, embracing Michael Moore and Whoopi Goldberg for directing lies and hatred toward a sitting President, and now attacking and discrediting these Swiftboat veterans as liars and partisans.

How can any American not want to support this cause??

Everyone I know who say they are voting for Kerry say it is because "He is not Bush" . They can't even say anything posittive about Kerry at all.

Try this out for illogical:
I'm registered UNAFFILIATED, have been for 23 years, and have voted in every local, state, and national election I've been able to do so in.
I'm one of the more conservative people in 'my group'.
I voted for a blind Democrat for a county commisioner position. Twice.
I voted against the same person when he ran for Treasurer.
Pete Coors was accused in the primary of "favoring lowering the drinking age".
My take was yes ... with a valid Military,Peace Corps, AmericaCorps, or Habitat for Humanity ID card.
My religious views discourage drinking alcoholic beverages.

I support the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth 100%

I have never ever donated to anything other than church or world vision. The swift vets get my first donation of this kind. I was 18 in 1972 and was amounst the first 18 year olds to vote for pres. I voted for M--govern.then Carter Mondale dukacus? perot twice gore. I have recently grown up (Sept 11 2001 is my new birth date) This election I will be voting for Bush. Kerry would be a disaster for our country. I don't want to be speaking French in 8 years.

I never donated to any cause related entity in my life. I did for Swiftboat veterans for Truth though and I'll probably give again in the coming months. This is not a pro-Bush lobby. This is not an anti-Democrat lobby. This is more personal. In 1971 and many times since, John Kerry declared the swiftboat crews in who served in Vietnam to be war criminals. I take this very personally. I have no respect for anyone who gives aid and comfort to the enemy and when I was in Vietnam, Kerry was doing exactly this.
John O'Neill, bless him, has been fighting this battle against Kerry for 33 or more years. It has nothing to do with politics. It is an attempt to keep a dishonorable person from becoming Commander-In-Chief of an armed forces that he designed to discredit for most of his life.

OK, I confess to being the BIG republican contributor. YES, I did vote for Nixon, may he rest in peace. LBJ was a democrat, and how he anguished over VN. I hope they're both resting a bit easier today, I hope my BIG contribution buys the former presidents a gentler slumber.

I have donated to a lot of different things, but don't donate to political causes... but I have donated to the Swift Vets. My reason is not one of supporting a candidate, but of keeping a traitor out of the White House. I am very afraid of what that man will do with our country if he is elected; I am afraid also for America if 50% of Americans can't see him for what he is. No election has been more important to me since I could vote, and I am 47. With a career Marine for a husband, I have heard for years the complaints about inflated FitReps... Mr Heinz Kerry's inflated FitReps don't impress me at all. He's "Just a gigolo".

Swing Voter: So I guess you think that Democrats should be donating to the Swiftvets and if they do not then the Swiftvets are Republican hacks. Can you see how ludicrous that argument is?

John O'Neil told Brit Hume that he has donated three tiimes as much to Democrats as he has to Republicans. Tonight on Hannity and Colmess he was asked if he would stop the ads if Bush asked him. He said no way. He said if Kerry was a Republican they would do the same thing, These 254 men were sent to Viet Nam over 30 years ago, randomly selected from all walks of life. And now you think they are all Republicans?

Never said that. My point (arguement) is, expect critiscm when your main donors are conservative, yet you are in a non-partison group, its just part of the game.

swing votr,

OH I agree that it is part of the game, but in fact the vast majority of our funds (IIRC) come from small donations making us a geniunely grassroots organization. An FEC audit will confirm this...and I think (moderators?) that we should make this a big talking point.

"Main donors are republican"...check out Soros contributions to dems...and Hanoi Jane has contributed over $14,000,000.00 Shocked Shocked Shocked That fact made my eyes buldge out 2 full inches. Now compare that to O'Neill's pultry sums...and the biggest donation to date for SBVFT is a mere $200,000!

We don't have M. Moore's backing and a flat out right distortion of a documentary earning 40 some million dollars. Of course Moore laughs all the way to the bank mumbling..."Boy are Americans stupid"....
