On the unfitforcommand.org site, if you go into the resources page,

then go to the discarded decorations page, Kerry says he threw away

6,7,8,9, medals? Wow he was one busy bee!

Is he nuts, or are there medals we don't know about?


When asked if he gave back his 3 purple hearts and his two star medals, he said "not only that, I gave back the "others"

What the heck?

They've run a clip a number of times of an old Meet The Press, I think (could be wrong) - anyway, I've seen him make that statement, and then back to the hosts and no one says, what were the other 4 for?? This problem of his to exaggerate, to say the least -- not satisfied with 5 medals from 4 mos service, he had to have 9 !!!

The "others" ? Sen. Kerry also had:

National Defense Ribbon
Vietnam Service Medal
Vietnam Campaign Medal
Combat Action Ribbon
