I agree with "leave the guy out of it", but at some point it's also possible that there will be a face-to-face debate between our group and the Kerry-supporting group. There is a good possibility, if Rassmann was given an honest way to redefine his position without too much loss of honor (could you have possibly mistaken the other boat's outgoing fire for enemy fire, in the confusion of the moment, and from your water-level position, considering you had just been blown overboard by a mine?). Something along those lines. The guy has got to be confused right now about the situation he's in. All you need from him is a "maybe". Split this guy from Kerry and it's all over. If he has any honor, he's questioning himself already about what REALLY happened. Make it easy for him. Get my point? |
