John Kerry will sign the Kyoto Global Warming Treaty, a formula for the wholesale destruction of the U.S. manufacturing sector and coal mining industry. (Gore lost in 2000 because the miners in West Virginia, who usually vote Democratic, knew that he planned to destroy their jobs by committing the U.S. to the Kyoto Treaty.)

http://www.johnkerry.com/communities/enviros/environmentalists.html (Kerry's own Web site, this is NOT GOP propaganda)
"He strongly opposed Bush's efforts to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling and BACKED THE KYOTO PROTOCOLS."

REAL Democrats do not destroy working people's jobs to pander to left-wing environmentalists. http://www.stentorian.com/kyoto/ shows how the Kyoto Global Warming Treaty will, by raising U.S. energy prices, lead to the wholesale destruction of the U.S. manufacturing sector.

Per Henry Ford (a Democrat who gave us a minimum wage on which a single-income family could own a home and automobile, along with the 40-hour work week), "The location of a new plant is largely determined by the cost of its power and the price at which it may make and ship goods to a given territory… Our civilization— such as it is— rests on cheap and convenient power. … The source of material civilization is developed power."

The Kyoto Global Warming Treaty requires industrialized nations like the U.S. (but not "developing" nations like China) to curtail their emissions of carbon dioxide. Fossil fuels would be taxed with "carbon taxes," or else power plants would have to install costly equipment to scrub carbon dioxide from their emissions. (Unlike mercury and sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide is NOT a hazardous pollutant so this is not a question of having clean air to breathe.) The ostensible purpose is to reduce global emissions of greenhouse gases-- but this is a LIE.

China has no obligations under the treaty so it could happily build more coal-burning power plants. The Kyoto Protocol would do NOTHING to reduce worldwide greenhouse gas emissions; it would encourage investors to move the smokestacks, all their carbon dioxide, AND THE JOBS UNDERNEATH THE SMOKESTACKS to China.

And here is what the Russians (who are trying to build a working economy) have to say about the Kyoto Global Warming Scam, which is supported by John Kerry:

http://www.russiajournal.com/news/cnewswire.shtml?nw=42650#n42650 Andrei Illarionov: Kyoto Protocol is economic 'Auschwitz' for Russia
"Russian Presidential Advisor on Economic Issues Andrei Illarionov has described the Kyoto protocol as an 'economic Auschwitz for Russia.' ...'Ratifying this protocol would transform Russia into an economic dwarf or baby whereas at present it is just beginning to grow into adulthood.'"

http://www.russiajournal.com/news/cnews-article.shtml?nd=43326 Kyoto protocol is discriminatory against Russia
"Illarionov also stressed that the Kyoto protocol was not a universal instrument, as more than half of all countries around the world have taken no obligation to limit emissions of greenhouse gases. The economies of countries that have ratified the protocol grow at a slower pace, as the Kyoto protocol sets substantial restrictions on economic growth, he added."

Unions have a problem. They support liberal programs but don't support vets who become union activists in their ranks. How about coal miner opposition to Nuke plants? I haven't heard it???? My Starling Partial Dams would take maximum advantage of clean Hydroelectric Power without blocking flow like the Hoover Dam and similar structures. I encountered the same problem with politicians as vets do in unions, they don't want to give vets especially Viet Era Vets credit for anything that might help them get ahead.
So, why don't you ask coal miners to support Partial Dams and oppose nuke power, the next Chernobyl might be any one of them. My dams feature a series of concrete abutments that protude into flows, acting like weirs, backing water up upstream causing the level to rise and the resultant pressure forces turbine generators on the ends of the abutments to turn and generate power. Boat traffic, salmon etc., still have a channel to travel. For faster streamflow, the abutments would be shorter, for slower stream flow, the abutments would protrude further. You install 5 or 6 near each city along the rivers route, up to a dozen or so on each bank for metropolitan areas. These won't ever leak enough radiation in cooling water ponds etc., to harm your descendants. LC
