Whether Kerry or one of his peers pursued the "three purple hearts rule" .... I wonder if this policy was implemented in the Vietnam theater of operations 2 thousand times, 50 times or 5 times. Where do I look in order to put this in context?
Also, on various 24/7 cable channels I can REGULARLY see 5-second film clips that Kerry made in 'Nam. Why isn't this looked upon as narcissistic, manipulative behavior? I sure hope that such behavior was exceedingly rare. Could this have been a fad back then? |

Don't have a source for you but I can tell you this: The Marines recognized this as a potential problem and just wouldn't allow PH's for bandaid wounds treated by a Corpsman. Had to go to the hospital and be treated by a doctor.
Other wise half the Marine grunts in I Corps could have gone home early. In addition, in my own unit, 2 PH's would likely get you relegated to the rear somewhere to keep from sending you home early.
All of that is ignoring the wounded that just would not report minor wounds because they did not want to leave their units or their "brothers".
Doesn't sound much like Kerry, does it? _________________ "If he believes his 1971 indictment of his country and his fellow veterans was true, then he couldn't possibly be proud of his Vietnam service." |

Another donation will be on the way from me shortly. I just heard that "it is clear that Bush is behind the Swift Boat Aids because veterans could not possability have the political sophistication necessary to put together the ads". As an American and a veteran I take my responsibility to ensure continued freedoms very seriously and find that I under the political system very well (with out help from talking heads). |

I've read elsewhere, can't remember where, that a few others also invoked the 3 PH rule, but they were reassigned in country, to a non-combat position. It seems only Kerry, best as I can tell, used it a ticket for the freedom bird. _________________ Clark County Conservative |

Oh let me guess, one of the Talking Heads from the DNC!! What a bunch of BS! Guess they forget that this Nation was built by Veterans and stays together because of the Veteran! _________________ U.S. Army 1983-1995, 11C1P/11H2P NBTDT |
