The media doesn't really want to cover this story, but I think your
website could get your message out anyway by including video
of these veterans telling their stories. Personally I would have
a better feel for these people's motives and veracity if I could see them speak.

my two cents.

You can see them speak on the home page now, why would more video make you "feel better about their motives and veracity?" They have been upfront about their "motives and veracity" all along.

You can see their initial press conference - 118 minutes, I think? Those were the initial founders of the group that spoke - they have many more members now - over 250 and I think they've just added a couple more over the last two weeks.

Navy, Navy, Navy

Is there a link to the first ad "Any Questions"?

I've looked and I can't find one, Lily. Might want to try google - some of the bloggers may have picked it up. (Bless them!)

Actually kate posted to the Consolidation of Links thread a site that has both ads - but for some reason, the bb WILL NOT show the link as a URL. So, here's a link to the second ad - copy and paste it into your browser address bar, delete the "2" right before the htm and hit enter and you'll get the first ad.

http://www.peteandrews.net/site/2004/swiftboat_veterans_ad2.htm

This is one of the wierdest things I've ever seen - something like it happened once before with an image. These two links are identical except for the "2" so why it won't show without the "2" is beyond me..... twilight zone stuff. Wink

O.k., I think my posting was misunderstood to say that I personally
questioned the truthfulness of your veterans. (That's the wonderful
thing about these forums I guess - no matter what you say somebody
is going to disagree with you.)

What I really meant to say is: this website is the key to getting your
message out. The book seems to be shipping very slowly (I don't
have mine yet). Also the media doesn't want to talk about this
except superficially. So that leaves this website and BLOGS.
I don't put much faith in BLOGS because they can lie if they want.

So I think you need to spend some of the advertising money
to beef-up this website. One thing I would like to see is each
of these veterans being interviewed.

thanks,

Bob Lister

Definitely strange; I use 'Firefox' and have Ver.9 of Windows Media Player, and it plays both the first ad with Edwards leading off, and the second with Kerry in front of the committee.

Here's something to look at when you get a little time -- there was only one political ad that only played one time before it was pulled due to the outcry it provoked, but the resultant firestorm swept LBJ into the White House:

The 'Daisy' ad for LBJ in 1964 (Second down in left column):
Peace, Little Girl

Wallace, Anderson, and Perot ads are all there too. I hope they will also grab the SwiftVets ads and include them, as they are proving to be a great catalyst for change in the political ad arena.

Many thanks to the SwiftVets for allowing us other Vets of all descriptions a place to voice our dismay and disgust over the conduct of the despicable traitors and their useful idiots.

No, both play just fine - it's just that I can't get link to show up on phBB to the first video, even though a nearly identical link (just adding the "2") shows up just fine.

We had a problem like that pop up once before with an image... simply would not show up... when you highlight where the link is supposed to be, you get only carriage returns.

Ah, the joys of electrons! Wink
