Why not have both sides agree on a retired Federal Inspector General perhaps from the VA investigate the issues with a deadline date. If Kerry prevents access to the information needed he would be cited in the report and the public would come to their own conclusions.

Or somebody like Bill O'Reilly to openly challenge Kerry to submit his Form 180, and then update viewers nightly about progress.

I'm not sure Bill has the moral clarity anymore to fight for the truth, especially if the consequences could favor one political party or another. He's sounding more and more like John McCain every day.

I was a fan of Oreilly's for years, not anymore. He has run from the swiftvet issue, his pathetic editorials make no sense in light of his no spin motto and declaration that he is "looking out for you."

Don't know what's going on with him, hope he turns around.

IMHO, he's fallen into the same liberal trap that 90% of the Republican leadership has fallen into...trying to pass various "litmus tests" to prove they're not a "mean-spirited fundamentalist wacko". They've completely neutered themselves.

That's what happens when you try to please all the people all the time and your enemy notices it. Sad

I agree Bill O'Reilly is not the man for this job. In fact he has been a major disappointment re Kerry's military service and actions with the VVAW. We need an independent person with integrity and reputation who can do the job. My recommendation is a former and now retired Inspector General who the congress has previously appointed and a person with a track record who has investigated an agency when both Democrats and Republicans have held the presidential office. An IG has the experience and know how to gather the facts, analyze the information, hire the right personnel, and produce a report that most will accept based on his attributes. This will avoid the misinformation that the press seems to use so that the public never are able to come to a conclusion based on "facts" rather than a bias.

Skipping past Vietnam for the moment:
Lets talks about the following comment made by John Kerry.

>NBC Meet the Press:
Mr. Kerry: There are all kinds of atrocities, and I would have to
say that yes, yes, I committed the same kinds of atrocities as
thousands in free- fire zones. I conducted harassment and interdictiction
fire. .... I took part in the burning of villages .......

Do you want to elect a person who failed to report to their commanding
officer an atrocity ?

Or the following comment on finding out a fellow ( Vietnam Vet Against War )
VVAW was a complete fake. Never in Vietnam.
Mr. Kerry: To Al Hubbards credit , he did serve his nation, HE HAD SIMPLY EXAGGERATED his particular position. But nobody knew it at the time
. AND THOSE THINGS HAPPEN".

Would anyone elect a screwwball like this?? Give him a job in
the road department.

O'Reilly just wants to keep talking about Michael Moore... his "famous interview with Moore" -- (I thought it was weak anyway and it didn't do anything for me). His dismissal and smear of the SBFVT is disgusting and says reams about who he is and what a fraud.

I think JK has people inside the VA -- I don't trust an inspector, unless at the same time, he release his records to O'Neill and the media. Thinking of another "commission" doing an investigation sort of makes me cringe... Cool
