You can always tell a chief. You just can't tell him much

Yes, ma'am.

My sincere condolences on your partial residence in Baja Oklahoma.

Chief, are you going to fisk the rest of the Kerry incidents as nicely as you did that WaPo piece? Or is this a one-time shot?

A new witness, a Mr. Jim Russell, has appeared today who claims that there was an explosion, possibly from a mine, BEHIND PCF 43 ... http://www.beldar.org/beldarblog/2004/08/the_new_jim_rus.html

The Belodeau eulogy has gotten ZERO mention in the mainstream media -- which I find amazing, since it's Kerry's own words and printed in an unimpeachable-for-bias source. You might want to give the date and pages of the 1998 Congressional Record (January 28, 1998, pp. S186-S187). The Congressional Website Online website is http://www.gpoaccess.gov/crecord/ but it's not link-friendly for search results. I've saved .pdf versions on my blog ( http://beldar.blogs.com/beldarblog/2004/Belodeau%20eulogy-p1.pdf and http://beldar.blogs.com/beldarblog/2004/Belodeau%20eulogy-p2.pdf ) if you'd like to cite those in your letter.

Excellent post and letter.

I thought I would give a couple of suggestions since I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Wink

I would copy at least 4 other people in the letter (or email). Like the editor of the WP, a couple of investigative reporters and someone like Bret Hume. Otherwise, I have this feeling that nothing will come of it. You might also just take your analysis out of the letter and use it to send and post to anyone or everyone.

I saw the PCF 94 listed first in the order of PCFs but did not take the time to see if that was on another report that Kerry might have written. They are written in reverse order.

Again, great letter.

Gentlemen, start your engines.

I would love to still be working for the POW/MIA office, however. Cause I still have my credentials to go inside the Navy Archives and look at all of Kerry's documents. I couldn't copy them but I'd do my best to activate my photographic memory

Now, chief, you know as well as I do that those are classified records. If you even asked for ACCESS, they'd bust you to Seaman 4th Class, and you'd be the first loader on a MOD 0 MK I 1"/50 swab launcher in the head at Adak before you could say, "Oops, wrong file...."

We can wait. Kerry can NOT skirt the SF 180 issue much longer. Too many people are asking too many pointed questions. The longer he stalls, the more intense the fisking. Somewhere, there is a Woodward-wannabe just itching for a Pulitzer to hang in their war room. This is better than Muskie crying on the steps of the Manchester Union Leader. More graphic than the photo of Dukakis in the tank. More powerful than the 18 minutes of missing dictation tape. More compelling than getting Colonel North to testify in Iran-Contra. It's right up there with The Blue Dress....

I really want to see the chop ladders (or lack thereof) on those After Action Reports. That's going to be a gold mine. Oh, and the ORIGINAL of that DD-214 with the Silver Star with Combat "V", oh, and the medical records....

Oh, and I absolutelydefer to Beldar. He's not MY lawyer, but he is A lawyer. Don't trust him, but you can pretty much take what he says as a well-informed, erudite, and educated opinion, easily worth every penny you pay for it.
