If there weren't a bias, posters to this board would be equally interested in "exploring" George Bush's record, but for that topic this community has a "read no evil" outlook.

What you're forgetting is that Bush never brought up his military record... the moveon.org people (and others who oppose Bush) did. Bush didn't make military service an issue. KERRY did. Not a speech has gone by where you don't hear him talk about his time in Nam. THIS is what the swifties (and the rest of us) object to.

Think about it like this. The mark of a disingenuous person is that they have no core. Kerry protested Nam upon his return, leaving thousands of other men in harms' way, some of whom ended up being tortured in the Hanoi Hilton, not only by their captors, but by being forced to listen to Kerry's comments over the Cong-run airway.

These same men came home, thanks to Kerry, and were spat on, called baby killers, mocked. Many lost jobs and family because people believed Kerry.

And now this man TOUTS his military service as if 1971 never happened?

Bush did not do any of these things. Ergo, this isn't about BUSH, it's about KERRY and his fitness for the presidency. Everything he does and says regarding Vietnam, and every link he has to his past is important as a point of character.
