We have been hit twice in 10 years. I firmly believe NYC will be hit again in the next 4 years. I shudder to think of the "response" a Kerry Presidency would reply with.

I think Kerry would "fight the last war" which, as we clearly see, was VietNam in his mind.
He will engage in that manner after removing the changes Rumsfeld has made, which he seems to have problems with.
By the way, I've been pretty impressed with Rumsfeld's changes.
Kerry would have, I think, attacked Afghanistan (and yes, Iraq) using 1960's tactics.
Those were minor improvements of 1950's tactics. |

I'll take this seriously and run with it.
#1: Our troops will be under UN or (at least) NATO leadership in Iraq, asap.
#2: More base closures, more cuts in military spending.
#3: Universal health care, starting with people who have catastrophic illness.
#4: "Don't ask, don't pursue" will be abolished in favor of gays openly serving in the military.
#5: same-sex marriage and a reversal of the ban on partial birth abortions.
#6: Roll back of tax cuts across the board (he says he would only do it for the wealthy but in order to pay for other things he'll have to hit everyone). |

What makes you people think that he will DO anything. This guy is
the most complete screw off in the Senate. He is famous for doing
absolutly nothing. He would fill up the cabinet offices with the usual
party aperatchiks and do a variation of the Clinton "I love me" thing.
Only unlike Clinton, he will jump in with all four feet everytime he gets
a wild hair up his butt and step all over his own people. Look what
he's doing in this campaign for cripes sake. He would put this country
in a complete leadership vaccuum.

Kerry is a politico. He also has people to satisfy, like some of his buddies who he touted at the DNC as his band of brothers. One of whom represents a major Union and has met with Kerry about union business. Kerry has to "do something", not because he would WANT to do something, but he's a narcissist and, as long as people serve his purposes, he will "come through" for them. |

I'll probably end up on anti-depressents, my taxes will skyrocket, socialized medicine will be the norm (hope you don't need an operation right away aka Canada/U.K.), my children and grandchildren will be required to speak French, the military will be in disarray, veterans benefits will suffer heavily, he'll accuse the military personnel of being war criminals and the U.N. flag will fly over the White House, Threasa Hienz Kerry will be telling all the reporters to F off, Osama will rent the Lincoln Bedroom and Hanoi Jane will be named Defense Secretary.
